I stopped in after a doctors appointment with my mom. We got the special (buy one get one calzones) and they did not disappoint. I got onion and garlic and it was delicious and not overpowering at all. She got sausage and onion and the sausage was high quality and tasty. I also got the limoncello martini and couldn’t recommend it enough. It was so tangy and delicious, and I couldn’t taste the alcohol at all. Award winning food right down the street!

Since relocating from the Southside of Chicago to Michigan, one of the biggest drawbacks is missing all the great food I grew up on. So I was thrilled to discover that this establishment was opening near one of my Southside Chicago sales offices. Great perk when I’m in town. I ordered two breaded steak Sammys to-go, along with all the fixings on the side. Their breaded steak sandwich is absolutely incredible, loaded with extra red sauce, mozzarella cheese, sweet peppers, and giardiniera. TLC is evident in every bite, just like in all their food. My favorite was the Pepperoni thin crust BOGO or the Lasagna specials. Overall you won’t be disappointed❣️✌️ #mangia

By far one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to! The Lasagna, mussels and garlic bread are phenomenal! The staff are awesome and very attentive! Lastly they have Italian beer which is a great complement to the food! 5 stars all around!

La Gondola never disappoints. I had gluten free rigatoni bosciola, ate as much as I wanted, and didn’t feel poorly. I’ve loved this restaurant since 2007, before I had strict dietary restrictions. The new location still has a casual, cozy vibe with a focus on great food. Kudos to Andy and family for keeping this alive for all the hungry people.

28 dollars for a very average carbonara. All of the proteins we had tasted strange. The pancetta on the carbonara tasted old, the steaks did as well. The giant meatball was mushy. Our server forgot our utensil, we came because of the positive reviews but did not have a positive experience.

Looking for an Italian restaurant that absolutely slaps? You’ve found it! Ditch the mediocre chain restaurants in Chicago and order here instead. This place is incredible! Ever since visiting Europe this summer I’ve been seeking the best Carbonara in Chicago. Let me tell you, their Carbonara absolutely slaps! It’s slightly more salty than I prefer but that’s being petty tbh. I placed an order on doordash and there was a small, micro issue with my order which resulted in getting to try more food! It was dealt with in a very timely and effective manner. The girl working up front is sooooo nice and so is the owner (I presume he was the owner). We also got to try their spaghetti and meatballs, double cheese burger, fries, minestrone soup, and brownie bites. Every item was amazing! I do want to give a specific shout out to the double burger for $7 during lunch. It’s the definition of grilled BBQ burger. It tasted like a BBQ with the grill marks on it and overall flavor. The cheese was so melty and delicious! It’s the best value and quality burger in Chicago. Also worth noting that the free baguette you get with the pasta is actually good! I’m so picky about baguettes but theirs was actually worth eating. Thanks for making our experience amazing! I will be back so soon!

The $5 slice and a pop special is out of this world delicious. They don’t skimp on the slice: it’s huge! And the pop is fantastic too. They have Coke products and a slew of delicious flavored pops made right here In Chicago. Lady helped me out and she was very kind. I’m gonna come back some day and try the chicken parmigiana pizza. It looks so good. Try this place, you’ll like it!

We’ve been before and really enjoyed their pasta and chicken parm. Last night we tried some new things which were disappointing-the chicken parm pizza and the meatball sub. The sub was served on dry flavorless bread with no other fixings and was either missing a meatball or was served on the wrong sub …the pizza is a ground fried chicken as a crust, my husband enjoyed but by our second slice we realized it was very salty….Just all kind of underwhelming and disappointing.

We just heard that their was a new pizza place so stopped by to try it based on reviews and pictures it looked great. Ordered just a slice of pepperoni and one sausage. The dough is the best in the area, the sausage is good quality and the pepperoni is delicious, the best I’ve had on a pizza. It was very light on sauce but I figured I could order extra sauce if I order a full pizza. The let down was the cheese It has to be part skim mozzarella it’s bland and gluey. Whole milk mozzarella is much more rich and flavorful. If they used a better quality of cheese it would easily be the best pizza in the area. I hope they switch I’d love to be a regular.
