The food is nearly always excellent!! Straight up Italian and Seafood. Prices are reasonable for the shore although some might find them to be a little steep for a large party. When they are not busy, the service is very good. However, when they are busy the parking is horrible, the service tries their best but they drop off, and the wait (even with a reservation) can be ridiculous.

Another great night and experience at La Fontana. Everyone in our party loved everything from the special appetizers, entrees and desserts. My Langostinos was the best thing I have eaten recently. Frenkli is the ultimate proffesional, welcoming, friendly and attentive.

Delicious restaurant, excellent service. The staff was very kind and was taking great care of us.

HOWEVER: We had a reservation at 19:30 and we were sat at our table only at 20:30. We had to wait outside and it was raining. We were really upset. Fortunately, the rest of our evening was nice and the staff saved the night.

Very good Italian restaurant in Strathmere, NJ. Had a dish with breaded chicken topped with greens and tomatoes. The menu titles were in Italian, which I don’t speak. I love that! Food was good. Service was great. Our server Raquel was awesome. The dessert was a caramel peanut butter chocolate ball cut in quarters. Yum. I’ll go back.

My family and I dined here in the beginning of summer and it was awful so I wanted to wait and see if maybe it was an off night. We returned recently now that it’s off season and while it was a better meal, it still just wasn’t very good. The food is under seasoned and pretty bland. I had a bruschetta that was more onion than tomato, fried breaded tomatoes that had no flavor/weren’t seasoned, and a veal dish that left a lot to be desired. Their pastas are probably the safest and best things on the menu to order, but still your average Italian pastas, nothing unique or note worthy. The staff also just don’t seem to handle the volume well. We received the apps pretty quickly (the waiter made recommendations for our party size and we just went with it) but we weren’t given the actual menus to order our mains until we had finished our apps. After that things just kept getting forgotten (we’d asked for silverware that took way too long to receive, we waited about 30 minutes for coffees and desert.) My husband also received a salmon dish that was so oily along with all of the sides that it was inedible, he told the staff this, and their response was just an “we’re sorry” leaving this item on our bill at the end. If you’re looking for a place to just sit outside and eat subpar food, you’ll be fine here but if you’re looking for a good meal that’s memorable for the right reasons, I would not recommend.

I ordered the veal medallions. I asked the waiter why I didn’t get medallions. He told me they beat them so thin, then bread them, that they all become one. My father had veal franchise medallions, he actually got medallions. My Mother got the chicken parm, which was advertised as a cutlet. Her cutlet looked identical to my veal “medallions”. The veal was half decent, but I can’t imagine being a waiter and lying to the customers face. Avoid if possible. Would rather pay and arm and leg at Deauville… I’d get what I ordered, not have an arrogant waiter tell me I’m wrong, and actually have a view.

Photos are of menu & my “medallions”.

O
Really exceptional. I’ve been here a few times and it’s been perfect every time. Really enjoyed the octopus special and always love the gnocchi. The wine was great (because it’s byob, love it). Server was fabulous, attentive and really went above and beyond for us. My only qualm is that the semi-outdoor seating area can get a little stuffy on the restaurant-adjacent side and the sun can be a pain on the outside-adjacent side. An extremely minor issue.

My wife and I both loved our dinner… and dessert! Bledi, our Albanian waiter, was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed speaking with him. The chef even came out and spoke with us, explaining one of the specials to us.
