I was in Florida visiting a friend, and he told me we had to come here to try the food. Since I’m Colombian myself, he wanted to see if I thought that this was authentic Colombian food or not. When we came in, we were seated right away and they brought us our menus. They had everything that I expected, and more. The menu has a WIDE range of different foods, all of which are mostly Colombian. I had to try the empanadas and chorizo to really see what they tasted like. I also had to try the traditional hot dog that comes with everything on it. Once the food came, we all shared pretty much everything. The flavors were so authentic and fresh. The restaurant is big with a lot of space for seating. We also order some food to go, which surprisingly took way longer than expected. We waited for our food to be ready to take home for almost 30 minutes. We had only order wings and a flan to go. And when they brought the order, they forgot the flan. So we then had to wait another 10 minutes before we had everything. Everything was great, just that the wait time for the to go food was a bit extensive. Other than that, great place!

The food is really good here but the service sets this place apart. La Fonda staff provide a level of excellence i have only experienced in upscale restaurants. They do this in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that really made my time there enjoyable. Dont be fooled by the sports bar label, this is a quality restaurant. I highly recommend

Upon arrival, on February 26, 2026 I chose to sit at the bar. Shortly after settling in, I immediately felt an unwelcoming atmosphere, particularly emanating from a staff member whom I identified as Denise. This initial impression was unfortunately compounded by subsequent events. After ordering my drink, a simple water with lemon, I observed a male patron seated next to me receive significantly faster service for a more complex drink order and a shot, despite having arrived after me. The disparity in service speed and attention was noticeable and frankly, quite disheartening. Given that I am a mixed-race woman who speaks Spanish fluently, I couldn’t help but feel that this differential treatment was, at least in part, connected to my perceived background or identity.
The issues continued when our food began to arrive. Our appetizers were served on disposable paper plates, which was an unexpected and aesthetically disappointing presentation, particularly for a restaurant of La Fonda’s presumed caliber. To my surprise, when our appetizer was served, they were presented on traditional ceramic plates. This inconsistency prompted me to inquire about the practice. When I spoke with Manager Natalia, she explained that serving appetizers on paper plates is a standard practice at your restaurant. While I appreciate the clarification, I must express my dissatisfaction with this policy. It detracts significantly from the dining experience and creates an impression of either cutting corners or a lack of attention to detail for certain aspects of the meal.
The combination of the unwelcoming demeanor from staff, the stark difference in service efficiency, and the unusual and substandard presentation of appetizers on paper plates culminated in a deeply unsatisfactory visit. The entire experience made me question whether I was being treated with the same respect and hospitality afforded to other patrons, leading me to a disheartening conclusion about potential biases within your service.

Great place great food and friendly staff. Our server was Diego and he was super cool. He was on top of our request with a friendly attitude. If you home craving for a meal and a good time I strongly suggest you to come to La Fonda paisa and ask for Diego. Cheers!

My daughter has the grilled chicken kids meal. The fried fish meal was delicious and very filling. The chicken wings were fresh and made to order. I enjoyed the good here and would return.

Typical sports bar atmosphere – but trust me, the food is anything but typical. Very high quality, authentic Colombian food. The portions are more than generous and everything is so fresh.

This restaurant serves Some of the best Colombian food I’ve ever had and I’m Colombian and have been to many Colombian restaurants in Ny, Miami and Colombia. I gave this review 3 starts because of some of the service or waitresses staff. Be ware!!! Some of them are very friendly and attentive but sneaky!!
My order included either ground steak or churrasco, I chose churrasco but was charged an addition $9. Same goes for the margaritas, they gave us 3 tequila options but never mentioned which would incur and additional charge and Our receipt also included a “large party” automatic gratuity charge of 18% when we were only 3. Our served went from nice to mean instantly when I didn’t include “additional gratuity”.
For the record: I still would have picked and happily paid for the patron tequila, the churrasco and my usual minimum of 20% gratuity. However, I left the restaurant feeling taken advantage of and with a sense of mistrust about the place and its staff.

Great place to eat some Colombian food. The Whole Fried Snapper is my favorite or the Mahi. 3 sides with each makes a great combo. Drinks are great with fruit and milk.

Upon entering the establishment, we were met with disorganization. After adding our name to the waitlist and being told there would be a 25-minute wait, we ended up waiting nearly 45 minutes before receiving the 5-minute seating alert. While waiting outside, we were only acknowledged by a busser—none of the female wait staff greeted us or provided any updates, except to tell us we’d be seated soon.
The atmosphere was chaotic, and navigating to our table was difficult. It’s clear the management is in need of serious restructuring, as the lack of coordination is visibly affecting the customer experience.
Once seated, it quickly became evident that this establishment has no concept of how to manage large parties. From failing to ensure everyone had cups and utensils to their rigid refusal to accommodate more than one bill, every step reflected poor preparation and inflexibility.
To add to the frustration, we were seated with only five minutes left of happy hour, and by the time our server took our drink order, it was one minute past the deadline. Although we asked to speak with a manager, no one ever came. Our server agreed to honor our happy hour drinks but stated no other accommodations would be made for the extended wait or subpar service.
Although the food was typical, the experience was ultimately defined by poor management, a lack of basic hospitality, and policies that prioritize the staff’s convenience over guest satisfaction.
