Recommend From Oklahoma visiting for Dino’s Git Down. Always willing to try Mexican food and this one is a solid winner. Not gonna lie the area is SUPER sketchy. The entire time I was eating I was hoping all my windows on the car were still gonna be there when we came back out. Salsa definitely tastes like Italian pizza sauce though ♀️ Mexican oregano, oregano, oregano? It was tasty but definitely not what you’re used to getting in Oklahoma. Sopapillas are different also as it’s just fried dough with a side of honey…no cinnamon or sugar coating. I’ll be thinking about this place until Dino’s 2026. Might stop on the way there and on the way back. ❤️

This experience was not what I expected at all. When we pulled up it was PACKED outside. It took an hour to even be seated and with how busy it was, I just knew it was going to be worth the wait.
The salsa they bring to the table is in a squirt bottle and it tastes like pizza sauce. Our margaritas showed up and they might as well have given us a bottle of strawberry syrup. They were so sweet and syrupy with absolutely no trace of tequila. I decided for $5 I could just forget about it and ordered a beer instead.
Then the food came. By this time, I was pretty over it and had a bad feeling about what the food was like considering the “salsa” and bar situation. It was very blah. Very limited menu to begin with and it should be amazing with such little options to even order.
My favorite part of this meal was when it was over. I sadly regretted not just going through a drive through somewhere.

My family’s been coming here for as long as I can remember 45 plus years. My grandma Josephine Martinez lived here in Flagstaff and this was one of her favorite places so when I drive through or stop to visit family this is the place I come. Brings back memories and it feels like I’m home

The menudo had mostly hominy corn and was lacking of menudo. The special burrito had more papers than meat. The bill was 47 dlls for food we didn’t even eat.
The one in Camp Verde is immaculate, the food is incredible and the service is top notch however don’t waist your time with the flag location. No worth the time.

Heard about this restaurant from people at work. My mom had come with a friend previously. She chose this for her birthday celebration. It’s been a long time since we’ve had service this great- refills on drinks, offers for refills on chips, delicious food (we had the Cali carne asada quesadilla special and the fajita chicken taco salad). The surprise at the end? Free sopapillas! My mom said the parking lots were jammed last time she came during a meal. We came mid afternoon (2pm), so parking wasn’t a problem. I usually don’t eat out for mexican food as I can make everything at home for so much cheaper making it hard to justify, but will be coming back with my spouse for a date sometime. Love to do our part to help local family-run businesses. Keep up the good work, La Fonda! No wonder you’re so popular among the locals (and not-so-locals)!

I wanted to go to Fat Olive or El Tapatio instead but this was our 3rd choice and for good reason.
Extremely mediocre – the horchata and the margarita were the best part about the meal.
All the Mexican food blended together – unfortunate that once again you can’t trust any of the Google Maps reviews in a hiking / ski town.
I would stick to fast food / chains or cooking your own food – you know what you’re going to get.

The gentleman who is our server didn’t listen to my drink order. Tequila soda lime TALL. In the pictures, you will see the short glass. And while he was asking about our order he kept leaning into us. Repeated order 2xs. My food was good but cold when it came. It was the special on Indian fry bread $16.99. I also asked him if it had any extra veggies in the shredded beef. He said “No, maybe a little onion” It had onion and… green peppers. Now I am not allergic but I can’t eat peppers it gives me heartburn. Ugh! So I had to pick through it. Dude know your menu and the ingredients. Also, he talked in a very low voice. It was hard to hear him.
I would not get that special again.
My husband said his meal was delicious.
We were here on a Tuesday
What about taco Tuesday Oh ya!! That’s a thought.
Oh, and our waiter looks like Col. Sanders but skinny.

Everything about this restaurant is phenomenal! The food, the service, and the atmosphere are second to none! This is a mandatory stop if you’re in Flagstaff! We ordered the Carne Asada Nahos and the La Fonda Chimichanga………… absolutely delicious. The table chips and salsa are also fire!

The Tex-Mex was pretty good, but I’m from Texas so I have a bias. The service was excellent and our waiter was very friendly and helpful explaining some things on the menu (AZ specifics) that we weren’t familiar with. The salsa was excellent and spicey. Our family ate here for and early evening dinner after a State Park Ranger recommended it to us.
