Another date night with the wife and another Mexican restaurant to try. Upon arriving, we were seated immediately and offered drinks. We were presented with chips and salsa after only 2 minutes and allowed to peruse the menu. The salsa was watery with little bulk to it, but that’s the same for a lot of restaurants. I chose the flauta plate while she opted for the Carne Asada fries. While the fries were tasty…offering plenty of meat, cheese, guacamole, and sour cream, they were also undercooked and pale, offering no crunch. The flautas were crunchy and full of ingredients that made it a stand-out item. The beans were well seasoned and perfectly cooked, but the rice was bland and offered little flavor. There are better restaurants in Chico, but if you’re looking for fast, cheap eats, this will work for you. If you prefer a more established business that serves better food, there are plenty of choices.

Literally garbage. I wouldn’t even feed it to my dog, they might choke on the meat because it’s so tough it can’t be chewed.
The rice is bland, the meat is bland, they use standard nasty canned refried beans; they claim there’s cheese, that’s false and completely not true.
I literally took my burrito apart to try and find cheese because it tastes so bad I don’t want to eat it, spoiler: NO CHEESE
The “burrito” was 3/4 nasty rice, and even nastier beans. The meat was so chewy I had to spit it out, and there was no cheese
Again I want to illustrate that this food is garbage and not authentic in any way shape or form; do not give them money, just go to Taco Bell
GO SOMEWHERE ELSE

Lunch was so good I had to order my Dinner to-go for later too!
I got the beans and cheese papusa and their delicious cabbage side salad was spicy and acidic enough to compliment the cheese, salt and hardiness of the papusa.
10/10 would go again!

Small spot in a little strip mall. I was in chico for an mri. The nurse told me this place had really good papusas. The first time in a while, someone did not steer me wrong. I had the pork papusa lunch. The salsa was good. The curtido was good but imprefer it a little more sour. Their beans were really good. The rice was okay. The papusas were so good! Will probably come back next time i am in the area

Ordered corn enchilada with asada and flour enchilada with carnitas. Everything I ordered was correct.
The beans and rice that came on the side was your typical traditional ones.
The side of salad was a nice touch. Dressing wasnt overwhelming and nice.
Enchiladas themselves were good, not great. Asada was dried out with no flavor. Carnitas was good.
I want to try other things next time.

Very delicious food, made fresh, hot and ready. The owners and staff are very kind and attentive, ensuring that the experience there is nothing but the best. I encourage anyone that reads this post to come give this place a try, you will not be disappointed. The bar has been set for 25 years now.

This is a gem. They treat you like family, they are so friendly, they are accommodating and the food is delicious. Wonderful experience. I have frequented this spot, I want to go back soon, but I have had so many great memories here with family, friends and I remember even taking my disaster response team when Camp Fire was happening. We were exhausted from the work we had done and they had our backs.

This is not a place for foodies or for someone who wants fresh authentic mexican food. Wife had the chicken pupusa and said it tasted like tuna. I think everything is from a can.
