We stumbled upon this while wondering around Illinois. As we walked in we noticed that just about everyone ordered the soup so of course we did too and had no regrets! My only regret was that I ordered a burrito instead and not a soup myself.
Our server didn’t speak English and my Spanish isn’t good enough to order however communicating through a translator on my phone was easy. The fact that the server or hardly anyone spoke English should be a raving testimony to how authentic the food is!

The store and restaurant are super clean and organized.
I decided to get breakfast while I was there. They serve instant coffee and give you a hot cup of water to make it. Even though they do it that way, the coffee , cream and sugar measurements made it delicious & perfect!!
The restaurant custom make orders. I ordered a breakfast plate (ham & eggs a la mexicana) and they modified it to my request with no questions asked. The salsa verde was super fresh with just the right heat. The serving was more than enough for 2 people.
As I was eating, they must have had about 20 walk up to go orders in the 30 min time frame.
Even with current dine in restrictions, it was obvious the loyal customer base is there.
So, pretty much, you better run and go get you some of the best food!! Look for the yellow house looking bldg. Input this address in your GPS: 8505 Collinsville Rd, 62234

Wonderful food, fast service (Sunday morning breakfast), excellent service by a beautiful server. Will definitely return. We had huevos rancheros, chorizo tacos, horchata and coffee.

So glad to have stumbled upon this place. The staff is warm and friendly and the food is quick and delicious. Everything was made with care. We ordered the Al Pastor Tacos and the Caldo de Res. The tacos were plump and juicy and the soup was easily one of the best we’ve had in the metro area. I almost forgot to mention the salsas. The verde was easily my favorite but zero complaints on the roja. Will absolutely be stopping to eat here whenever we’re in the area.

Finally had opportunity to slide by. Today we wanted some chicharrones and guacamole for a snack while we were in the area. Very friendly staff we will definitely be back I even seen some candy I grew up on while living in California I didn’t have much time to look through all the candy but I was excited to see they had a nice selection.

I don’t know if I’m supposed to keep it a secret, or let the secret out. The restaurant is incredible. A mysterious little hideaway, great birria. The corner store has useful her al remedies for cough and other ailments.
