This is great!!!! The food the service the hole nine yards. In the back is the restaurant in the front is a true Mexican store. It’s amazing the things that you will find in here. Overall, great place. I love it.

Tacos were dumped on a plate and over loaded with cilantro & onion and it was almost impossible to pick up one taco without having to remake it myself. The meat didn’t taste like it had seasoning. The waitress was great and they have a good variety of stuff in the store and the fruits and vegetables and fresh meat looked good.

Mexican foods and restaurant that serves really excellent food with buckets of tortilla chips. Excellent grocery section, but the restaurant section, and it projects a modest real Mexican family vibe. Too many TV screens, volume sometimes too loud. Not a fancy place, but so real it feels surreal. When I’m in town, La Esperanza is a must go to experience. Knoxville is growing in a fashionable direction that can be unsettling. La Esperanza preserves some of the “scruffy” vibe that preserves local charm. And it is affordable.

I loved it here. Food tasting really good and you definitely get plenty. I got a chicken burrito and it was as long as my plate. The food was all fresh and flavorful. The service was prompted and nice. It was a very friendly atmosphere. My ol man got the shrimp burrito that was packed full of shrimp. My son got the kids chicken taco meal and only had the taco leftover. I had to bring half my burrito home.

Delicious hidden gem! The restaurant has plenty of seating in the back of a grocery store. Beer is available.
The bucket of chips (fresh and warm! ) keeps arriving along with delicious salsa
Our server was attentive and brought packaging for our remaining chips and salsa after we were completely stuffed. We had three steak tacos, two meat (chicken and steak) quesadilla, and two sopes: one chicken and one roasted pork. We slowly finished it all.
Everything is fresh and made onsite. You won’t find anything better if you are traveling through, like we were.
Make the stop! Not far off the highway.

A nice little Mexican neighborhood market with a deli in the back. The salsa was the best I’ve had at any Mexican restaurant and the steak burrito was huge and enough for two full meals. It was also nice to be able to pick up a few essentials that I needed in the market without having to go elsewhere and I was able to pay for those and my meal all at once.

The food was delicious. It’s different from other Mexican restaurants (not to say that the others are not good just different). To begin, it was a taqueria inside a deli. I had the Pollo Quesadilla. It was a good portion and I had to bring half home to eat later.
The guacamole and rice was just yummy. A lot of Mexican places the rice is bland.
You can tell how authentic a place is by its clientele. My husband also bought some tamales and I bought some Mexican candy. Warning: their candy is not like our candy. We will be coming back.

Love this place. Fresh bread, the deli in the back has the be food. The salsa is 10/10. Honestly the best Mexican food I’ve had in Knoxville.

Greeted with a smile and hello. I ordered 3 chicken tacos to go. They were DELICIOUS, chefs kiss 10/10. This was my first visit of many.

This place was phenomenal! Some of the freshest salsa I’ve ever had. The chicken in the street taco was tender and perfectly seasoned. All three of my tacos were tasty. My friend ordered the fajita nachos and they looked spectacular. Staff was helpful, courteous, and prompt. Will definitely try again sometime.
