Our entire experience was great! Our waiter and food were on point! Would definitely recommend! They will also cook your fish if you go out fishing!

We ate here one night while staying in Akumal. The fish Veracruzana was amazing, and so was the service. We went on a fishing charter with the restaurant family, and we caught fish, which they cooked up for us two ways at a family dinner another night. What a fun experience, and the Guajillo Barracuda was AMAZING . We had never had that fish before, and it was deliciously prepared. The service was amazing and friendly. Highly recommend this place!

Little spot you would definitely miss if you’re staying nearby, but a MUST visit. The food was outstanding, from the whole fish to the seafood pasta. Wow, I can see why the locals were eating here. If you are tourist, make sure to stop by here!

La Cueva del Pescador is one of my favorite places to dine while in Akumal.
If you are there any time soon make sure to order the Langostino dinner entrée. It’s not on the printed menu but ask for it. It is absolutely delicious.

This was a great little spot in Akumal!
Our server, Jose, was great! He was quick to bring 2 Pina Coladas & a margarita to our table with chips & salsa.
For lunch, I had the coconut shrimp with pineapple dipping sauce (so good!). My husband had the beef tacos and my son had the fish fillet in Veracruz sauce which he devoured. We also shared a plate of cheese fries.
Afterwards, I had a mango cocktail which our server Jose added more rum to right at our table when he heard me say it tasted good, but was a little weak. We will definitely be stopping by this cozy little spot again!

This was disappointing after reading the google reviews. We got the whole fish and chicken tacos. The fish was overcooked and very dry. The tacos were ok, though spicy so our kids wouldn’t eat them (no fault of the restaurant).
The staff were polite but inattentive, mostly sitting around a table looking at their phones. Perhaps we visited them on an off day but we wouldn’t go back.

We had dinner at La Cueva del Pescador and it was great. We ordered the entire grilled fish and grilled squid. The portion was perfect for two people to share. It came with steamed vegetables and rice. The food was fresh and well-seasoned. We were told the grilled fish would take an hour but it took only 30 minutes. They also gave us complimentary tostadas with salsa before our food came. The menu was in English, and the bill totaled 580 Mexican pesos including a beer and a bottle of water. Highly recommended if you’re a seafood lover.

If you want to get away from tacos…come here!
We had seafood soup and a platter, both were great.
The soup was rich and plenty of seafood.
The platter was delicious, especially the fish and lobster. The fish was crispy in the outside and tender in the middle.
Because of the seafood platter the food was around 1000Mx with tip included.
We also had a margarita, beer and coffee.
