Incredible oasis in the high desert of Yucca Valley. La Copine is a true gem, serving outstanding farm-to-table food from breakfast through lunch—and it’s all fantastic. Every dish is delicious, the service is warm and on point, and the vibe is relaxed and welcoming. A genuinely amazing find in a place you’d never expect it. I wanted to try everything. I will be back! I arrived Sunday at 3 PM and there was no wait at the chef’s table.

A very nice restaurant near Joshua Tree. They have a really nice waiting area where you can play games with your friends. The fried eggplant is fresh, crispy, and well-seasoned. The mussels are flavorful but tend to cool down quickly (you need to eat them with the broth). The duck confit is also great and better than most restaurants in the Bay Area. The steak is tender and juicy, served with two perfectly cooked eggs. Lastly, I highly recommend the orange panna cotta! We waited a long time for it, but it was so delicious.

We rented a Airbnb in Landers. Our daughter made reservations for an late lunch, early dinner on Sunday. All meals were very good. I had the Steak Sando, very tender, delicious. Other meals at the table were the flat bread, gnocchi in vodka sauce, chicken piccata, and the pork and beans. All plates were licked clean. We sat outside, we had a dog with us. Only complaint tables were packed together and felt a little cramped.

Best food I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the little store/boutique was so cute with some wine tasting. The owners are amazing women, so grateful to meet them. Overall such a wonderful experience! Making a reservation in advance would be ideal i think, but we did a walk-in and waited about an hour – totally worth the wait! Thank you Nikki, Claire, & staff can’t wait to come back

Fantastic food! If you’re in Joshua Tree / Yucca Valley, La Copine is worth a visit. We arrived for brunch / lunch on a weekday afternoon. There’s plenty of parking provided. There was a short wait to be seated, but they have a semi-shaded sitting area and there’s also a tiny little shop to explore while waiting.
Service was awesome from the seating host to our server. The decor is modern and clean. It’s a casual dining affair.
My friends and I ordered whipped ricotta with figs, crispy papas, shrimp and grits, fried chicken, shrimp roll, and chocolate beignets for dessert with coffee. One of my friends wanted to order something she saw in a past review on Google Maps and they said that item was no longer offered. They change up the menu periodically, likely according to the season. Regardless, the entree flavors are fantastic. I think we could have ordered any entree and we would have been pleased. We especially enjoyed the whipped ricotta with figs—the honey drizzle had fresh ground black pepper and thyme, giving it an unexpected light zattar like flavor—really delightful! The chocolate beignets we had were likely vegan—we could tell, just FYI.
La Copine is approximately 10 minutes away from the Integratron and 20 minutes from the Giant Rock. It’s the perfect stop before your visit to either site.

This place is pretty unique, first off the food and service were both very good. No complaints. The menu was interesting and apparently is updated somewhat regularly. I think the restaurant would benefit from a more structured check-in system. I know it takes away from the quirky desert charm to put your name down on an iPad and get a text message when your table’s ready, but I think it would make the experience of walking into this restaurant much better. I’m okay waiting a comically long time, I get. That’s how supply and demand works and I would rather wait than see the restaurant bump up prices (which they totally could do if they wanted to, and I think they know that). But I’m still giving five stars because it was delicious.

Expect a long wait. My fiancée and I waited for over an hour in the hot desert sun. Despite that, the food made it all worth it. We had the Copine Salad, the fried chicken, and the Lavish Lavash, all of which were incredible. In retrospect I would have made a reservation but the food is to die for and the ambience is super cute as well.

Big fan of the fried eggplant! Nice and crispy, seasoned well, dipping (marinara?) sauce is delish too

We were surprised to find the place packed at 11 am when they opened. We only waited around 20 minutes and passed the time playing corn hole in the waiting area. I had the Black Tie Latke with salmon and poached egg which was delicious. My wife had the pistachio and artichoke flat bread which was really good as well. The Orange Sickle Panna Cotta was to die for. The staff were prompt and courteous. We will definitely come back to try other stuff, but get a reservation next time.

The food here is so good we had to come two days in a row before driving home. Coming from San Francisco, we know good food. Everything was good but the shrimp and grits, and citrus and beets salad are a must try. Each staff member we encountered was kind and welcoming. What an unexpected surprise in this area. 10/10 would recommend!
