I’ve been coming here for tortillas and tostadas since childhood. A little hole in the wall tortilla factory that is really a gem and blessing to have in this city. I love the thin but fresh and tasty tortillas! The tostadas are great too. …but the burritos! Got dang! My brother and I have been having them for pretty much all our lives. We always order the same ones ( 1 chile verde with chile con queso each and 1 of red and chile con queso). The mixture of the 2 is just so flavorful! Now that im 39 and married my wife loves this place too. ..and she is so picky about her burritos too! We have never gotten sick from eating the burritos or tacos! We even remember when the dude that prepares the burritos (he’s super fast by the way) had hair! Lol. Thank you for always keeping thr recipes the same! Customer for life! Try em out!

I know this place is already huge and well known but it is 100% for a reason. Absolutely amazing tortillas. I went with the picadillo and chili relleno burritos – perfect, I wouldn’t have changed a thing. The employees are incredibly nice as well.

La Colonial is a tortilla factory, there’s no seating but you can order from a menu to go. Usually very busy in the morning. The staff is friendly but pace seems hectic. The food is fantastic, the best tamales I’ve had.

I saw them in the food network and they are supposed to be the best. I’ve been trying to buy from here for several months but it seems like they hardly open. Honestly I’m not impressed. The burrito portion is too small for the price and was mostly beans, it was not filling. The selection was slim, the cashier was pleasant, the person that gives you the food just threw my burritos my way, no receipt nor a thank you from the staff. Not complaining, but not sure what the whole hype was for.. if you are hungry look elsewhere because you will go broke ordering enough to fill you up.

After hearing, this was on diners, drive-ins and dives, my wife and I were excited to go there. Ordered the brisket tacos and something had a burnt taste to it, I think it was the oil. I don’t expect I would go back. They look delicious.

I went at lunch time and they had sold out of all the burritos. Next time I will go in the morning. They only had hamburgers and potato tacos. The tacos are deep fried. They were the tastiest potato tacos I have eaten. I did take one package of flour tortillas. Next time I go I will review the burritos.

Best food I’ve found in El Paso. Deep fried brisket tacos, chile rellenos, burritos, chile con queso, wedding cookies. To-go only. They sell out early, but you can order a day ahead. Excellent!
