Atmosphere:
Honestly depressing. Almost nobody was in here and the music they were playing was random genres and switched between hip hop to sad songs to rock music. It was self seating and I wanted to sit at the windows next to the road and that was a mistake. All the window seats have heaters blowing overly hot air right over the top and made me nauseous with how hot it got.
Service:
The waitress was nice enough and brought us food fast and got the orders correct
Food:
Terrible.
The “flautas” were the smallest I’ve seen and were overly hard and the meat was dry in the middle. Rice had almost no taste and the beans tasted like water. My husband couldn’t even finish his food. My nachos had carnitas and it was dry yet greasy at the same time. The toppings were standard enough, the cheese was not melty when I got it and that was a bit disappointing.
For $38 this was just entirely not worth it, I tried to give it a chance but with so many authentic great tasting Mexican restaurants close enough I would rather drive a little farther to not have to go here.
Leaving the restaurant, who im assuming was the boss or a manager thanked us for coming up and gave us a very warm goodbye. We definitely will be coming back.
My favorite options are the elote/corn in a cup. Chilaquiles verdes & would also recommend the Nacho Supreme!
Needless to say, I still tried it because uno nunca sabe, and I immediately returned it and asked for a single queso birria taco ( it had melted cheese on it as it should.) and it was very good.
I debated on posting but since the blonde older Latina lady who decided to walk over to my table, not to apologize for the poor quality food, but instead to TELL me, we don’t return food and exchange it but I will this time and well if you don’t like what you ordered then I’m sorry that’s just it. Lmmfao. What the hell, I calmly said no problem, you can charge me the plate and yet she still somehow felt the need to reiterate what she previously stated. So, I restated what I said but in Spanish this time, thinking maybe it was a language barrier. But nope she was still just as nasty as her enchiladas.
We received the bill, minus the cost of the enchiladas. NP.
We left.
I noticed my partner only ate 1 of his enchiladas de mole with pollo. I asked as we were leaving why he didn’t finish his plate, he said the filling was cold the chicken was diced/cubed not shredded and the taste wasn’t there.
To bad for him. Should’ve said something. We are now headed to Nuevo León restaurant on 26th street to eat real Mexican food.
** btw, the young lady ( our server was great)
