Casual, cozy spot with a relaxed café atmosphere and simple décor. The food really shines here. The Cubano sandwich was fantastic—perfectly pressed, crispy on the outside, and packed with flavorful, juicy meat. One of the best I’ve had.
The grilled chicken was just as good: tender, well-seasoned, with beautifully cooked skin, served over rice and beans that complemented it perfectly. Generous portions, great flavors, and food that’s clearly made with care. Definitely worth a visit.

Placed an order thru doordash. Expecting a nice prepared plate that costs $20 with a 4.6 rating restaurant. But instead I received burnt food that tastes days old, chicken overly cooked, Yuca and rice soggy and burnt. FOOD literally tastes as if it were reheated and just thrown into a container. This is one of the worst take outs I’ve ever had. I for sure will be submitting this reviews along with a request of a refund.

First time coming here. Was craving a cuban sandwich, and i was around the area. I searched this place up andi ended up going. Soon as i walked in, i already KNEW this place was going to be delicious. The staff was absolutely amazing. The food..omg the food?!?! To die for!! And i only had breakfast. I recommend everyone to try this out. I truly wish they were open on weekends. I would go every single weekend!!

All of the menu options are good. I often get moro rice and beef stew or pork.
There is usually a wait whenever I go in, which is around/before lunch time a little. Which really does speak to how popular this place is.
I’ve mainly ordered their spinach empanada on the side whenever I get a platter; I wouldnt reccomend it if youre not a big fan of greens but I personally love it!
The establishment has a very lived in feeling which is nice, it adds to the charm of the place.
I’d reccomend as a solid lunch spot.

I had a mixed experience during my visit. Unfortunately, the staff member who was serving me coughed near my food and wasn’t wearing gloves, which made my friend and I feel uncomfortable about the hygiene. The takeout box that I was given was also dirty and I had to ask them for a new one.
The food itself was great. We ordered chicken with Mexican rice and black beans and got generous portions. The taste did not disappoint—it was delicious! The Buffalo Chicken empanada was the highlight of our meal, it was filled with flavor and I highly recommend trying it! We really liked dining in their outdoor seating area.
If the staff could improve on their hygiene practice and service, this would easily be a five-star experience.

Voted the best Newark for very good reasons and let me tell you about them. One, easy order process. Buffet style selection, think Chipotle, but better food. Two, high quality food. Had the pernil, rice, and beans and tasted the plantains and a Cuban empanada. Three, sat outside on their roof top patio and enjoyed a lovely spring day.

I had a five hour layover at the airport, and caught the 62 bus and happened upon La Concina. I was warmly welcomed by the patron, and I asked for a little of everything – incl plantains and Cuban lasagna. Wait staff had lovely banter going on, including singing along to the radio. I’d go back regularly if it weren’t 3000 odd miles away. And it was delicious 🙂
