We’ve been going here for years! This place always has fresh hot food. Family owned and operated and they’re always happy and welcoming.
This evening we had Hot and sour soup and the combination fried rice along with a couple HUGE egg rolls and some Crab Rangoon. Go see Sunshine she is always a delight and hilarious!

## La Chinita: A Delicious Fusion of Flavors on the Westside

La Chinita, a hidden gem on the westside of San Antonio, is a true testament to the beauty of culinary fusion. This delightful restaurant masterfully blends classic Chinese dishes with beloved Mexican favorites, creating a unique and satisfying dining experience.

**A Taste of Both Worlds:**

What truly sets La Chinita apart is its ability to deliver authentic flavors from both cuisines. Their **carne guisada, rice, and beans** are a testament to homemade goodness. The carne guisada is tender and flavorful, perfectly complemented by fluffy rice and beans. The buttery tortillas feel like a warm hug, adding the perfect touch of home-style comfort.

On the Chinese side, the **orange chicken** is a standout. Generous portions of large, succulent pieces of chicken are doused in a flavorful, tangy orange sauce. It’s clear that quality ingredients and careful preparation are top priorities here.

**Beyond the Food:**

La Chinita’s appeal extends beyond its flavorful dishes. The staff is **incredibly friendly and welcoming**, making you feel like a valued guest from the moment you walk in. They add a warm, personal touch that enhances the overall experience.

The restaurant also boasts a **cool little swag shop**, offering a fun way to take a piece of La Chinita home with you. And with **ample parking**, finding a spot is never a hassle.

**Overall Impression:**

La Chinita is a true hidden gem, offering a unique and satisfying dining experience. The delicious fusion of Chinese and Mexican flavors, coupled with friendly service, makes it a must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable meal. Whether you crave authentic Mexican comfort food or crave some delicious Chinese dishes, La Chinita has something for everyone. This is a place you’ll want to visit again and again.

We always judge a Chinese restaurant based on their egg foo young and this place did not disappoint, in fact it was some of the best we’ve had. We got the house special with chicken, beef and shrimp and they put real, good sized shrimp in it and the edges were perfect. We also got the beef and vegetables and fried rice. Everything was delicious, the rice was fluffy and not too greasy and the crab ragoon were delicious. The service was great too and syper friendly.

Two lunch specials, Lemon chicken. Didn’t think it would be so much food. Egg rolls were huge but I’ve had better. These had a bit too much cabbage for me. The egg drop soup was delicious. The rice was delicious. The Lemon chicken was delicious. Just be mindful of where sit. The vents blew on us and made it a bit uncomfortable.

It has been some time since I visited La Chinita and it was just as good as I remembered it to be. I had the Kung Pao chicken with fried rice. It was amazing. The workers were so nice and everyone had a great vibe. I will totally be coming back soon. I also included pictures of the lemon chicken that I had on another visit.

Update: I also went on a Friday and the special was Kung pao beef. It was Aaaaaamazing. I love this place ! The staff is really cool. The two cousins are awesome.

From friendly service to excellent portions and taste of the food – we had a great experience here. We asked for everything to be spicy, and it was the perfect amount of flavor and spice in each dish. We had the lunch specials, which came with Hot & Sour Soup – definitely worth the visit!

Fast, friendly service. The egg drop soup is delightful. Greeted upon entry and checked out with a smile. You receive a large amount of food for a wicked low price. Plenty of seating, so don’t hesitate to go during lunch hour.
