Changed to 2 stars after owners BS reply.
Dear Owner, thanks for your response. I was not suggesting that you needed to add more steak, shrimp, or chicken. My opinion is that maybe the steak, shrimp, chicken, chorizo, should be more equal parts instead of so very much chorizo and so very little everything else. After all, you already charge a good bit more for this fajita dinner than the other fajita dinners. Also, concerning chips and salsa, a takeout customer should be just as important to you as an eat-in customer. In my opinion.
Dec ‘24 4 stars. Ordered the La Chalupa Fajitas for takeout. Was ready when I arrived. Steak, chicken, peppers, onions, tomato, oaxaco cheese, shrimp, and way too much chorizo. More chorizo than everything else all put together. A red sauce not sure what it was but it was hot. A tasty green sauce. Beans and rice and a salad. Three flour tortillas. No chips no salsa was a definite disappointment. I didn’t know I had to order chips and salsa, just assumed I’d receive with order, my bad for assuming. Overall the food was tasty. See pics 1,2,3.
Tried this restaurant on a whim as it’s near our new office. Amazing, authentic, tasty, wholesome, homemade food. Have not had this quality Mexican food in a long time.
Service, quality, and price were all amazing.
The food tasted great and was backed up with friendly service.
Can’t wait to go back!
My family and I have been going to La Chalupa for 5 years now. When we first moved to the area a couple years ago we work so glad to find his place. It was our go-to for authentic Mexican food. Throughout the course of the past 5 years the quality of the restaurant went down quite a bit, however, we still came to eat some of their signature dishes. Unfortunately, today was the last time we will be dining at La Chalupa. My daughter ordered empanadas and was very excited. They came and even tough the carne assada filling was ok, the empanada dough tasted like fish, and was probably fried in the same oil they fry their fish.
The rest of the food was ok, and the service questionable after we were presented with a SOUR Tres leches cake . Unfortunately, both my daughter and my husband each had a bite of the cake until the sour milk smell took over the table . I am not sure the other desserts had an expiration date on them, but this is specific cake did not. It was gross. Disgusting. We were offered to try another piece of cake, but we were already grossed out. I do have to say… At least they did not charge us for the SOUR – definitely expired – cake.
The ride home was interesting with husband feeling sick. Not sure if was the food he ate or if he was just grossed out by the unfortunate experience.

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food… Ta-da!!!!! This is the spot. We are from CA so we can be picky with our Mexican food. They have great variety and very !!
Had the chicken chimichanga it was delicious. Nicely fried, cubed chicken, great flavor without being too spicy.
