For our late lunch on the way to Whitewater and Idyllwild, we decided to try Mexican food since my husband saw it had good reviews, so why not! The salsa for the nachos was a bit watery, but still tasty (I ate it anyway, haha). The portions were big! I had two tacos, one shrimp and one fish, while my husband had three tacos. The food was worth it: big and tasty. The staff were okay; they were busy, but at least three different people still checked in on us to ask how we were doing and what we needed, which was nice.

Very disappointed with the tortilla soup. I’ve come here and had other things. And it’s typically good, but the tortilla soup was really bad. There was some chicken, but it was mostly vegetable soup. No tortilla strips or anything was added. Waitress was very kind and polite. I did end up finding hair inside the soup.So I didn’t finish it. The bay leaves that are sitting, there were found and almost ate them.
Kinda bummed on this visit.

Stopped in on a long road trip. We were greeted and seated immediately. Drinks were soon ordered. I asked about the fish tacos as to the fish species and was told it was a white fish. I ordered it. My wife ordered pork tacos. The food was delivered soon. The food portions were large and looked good. The fish in the taco was mushy, and the batter was not crispy. The rice and beans were unremarkable. My wife’s pork was overcooked but did have good taste. The waitress was very attentive and asked if the food was OK. I did confess that I was disappointed. The meal was at market prices. The restaurant is clean, with the exception of hvac vents.

Our 1st time here, we came based on Google reviews. We were not disappointed. The service was fantastic, food was good and reasonably priced. The staff was on top of everything, very friendly too.

La Casita has a varied and great menu serving wonderful Mexican food. The seating is a bit limited and you might have to wait to be seated especially on Friday evenings and weekends. This shows how popular they are. The staff is friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the fajitas. Dinner comes with complimentary chips and salsa.

Staff was very friendly on a busy Sunday after Thanksgiving. Place was clean. Everything is made fresh daily. Went with family and had the caldo de rez and it was delicious all around with the flavor of the broth, tenderness of the meat, and the vegetables and rice in there. Passed through out of California and it was worth the stop.

Based on the front facade, this place is much larger than it appears. The dining area is in an “L” shape with all tables — no booths. The interior is quite plain and provides no atmosphere. With all hard surfaces, the reverbaration of all the conversations makes for a noisy dining experience. I got the Fajitas Sonora, which is their name for the beef option. It was actually quite good, with plenty of protein and vegetables — certainly more than I could eat in one sitting — thus, I got a “take home” clam shell. The fajitas were served with warm tortillas and a separate plate of arroz, frijoles, guacamole, crema agria, and pico de gallo — all fresh and all good. I washed it all down with a bottled Mexican Coke. Service was just adequate, with ordering, delivery, and servicing each being handled by a different person. My server did not “check” on me enough. While the food was good — not outstanding — the “vibe” of La Casita is not welcoming. The staff was not especially friendly and physical space is quite bland. I would rather eat at Casa Cruz in the same city. Therefore, La Casita is Not Recommended.

The restaurant and food were really good and authentic, but a bit pricey, otherwise it would be 5-star. I got the Grilled Chicken Avocado Salad, and my wife got the fish tacos. Both were very good. The Margareta was a little pricey for $11. But service and food were good.
