What a find! La Casa doesn’t come across too authentic and perhaps straddles a bit too much on the sports bar vibe. However look past the veneer, the joint provides just simply amazing tacos and other Mexican comfort food and absolutely reasonable prices. So why this good?

They cook everything “home” style. All the meats are prepared as if it was done in small batches. They are flavorful, fresh, and generous. Each meat respects the ingredients and is put together with love and care. This is the exact style of Mexican food you can return once a week, heck even more than that.

Service was great except on this particular day they got hit by a full house crowd during lunch only with 2 servers.

We will absolutely return and cherish.

I ordered 2 entrees to go. The quesabirria tacos were super delicious and flavorful. The southwest chicken bowl was fresh with just the right textures blending together. It tasted great. It was our 1st time ordering their food and we’ll go back when in town again.

Very impressed with the food, the staff and the simple ambience. It is tucked in a corner but a pleasant surprise to the palette! I had the cactus dish from their menu under blue zone! So good! It is a must to visit! It has that homemade feel! Prices are reasonable!

I love this restaurant! They have authentic food that taste like it’s from home. The customer service was great and the food was delicious. We ordered the tacos poblanos and it was a 10/10. We also ordered the ceviche and it came with a twist and had pineapple! It was amazing and perfect for the season! Definitely recommend and will be back.

The food here is very good for the price! I recommend the monterey burrito (11$). The service was great, they check in on you a lot and refill water. The only issue is the bathroom needs a better lock because someone did walk in on me. I would come again, the food was really good and it was a cozy place!

Okay, this is by far my very favorite Mexican restaurant. Multiple locations, but we’re going to talk about the one here in Monterey. It’s the newest. Handmade corn tortillas, fresh made guacamole, freshly grilled meats and seafood at your beck and call top of the line salsa and customer service to die for. I love the ambiance and the warmth it brings. If you’re looking for a beautiful menu full of healthy foods that are an enlightenment to your tongue, this is the place. I’m very picky for my senses all of them need to be played with and this is the place right here. It was just me ordering today but if it’s a full family I will definitely go to my usual which is a molcajete michoacano…so delicious and healthy

These tacos are off the hook.

Sometimes when you ask for me to be put on a Taco they literally just take it off of a spoon they pulled out of a container with all kinds of juice and they throw it on top of your taco and it may or may not have great flavor.

Not here, they make the meat and then right before they serve it there’s a crisp that’s added to it that makes your teeth feel like they just landed on a delicacy worth chewing!

You thought you stopped at a Taqueria but you actually stopped into somebody’s backyard where they know what they’re doing with the meats.

I asked for my tacos in a flour tortilla and they came street style. Ask for a side guacamole, side of sour cream, salsa verde.

As soon as my teeth crunched into that meat I closed my eyes and my head started doing Stevie Wonder moves.

Let’s talk margarita, not only are these delivered in a beautiful margarita glass like the original Margaritas were you get a choice of Tajin rim or salt and their house so do allows you to get two or three Margaritas on a Tuesday or Wednesday night that are going to cost you the same as two extra alcohol Margaritas somewhere else on the street.

All that to say skip the big fancy Mexican trendy restaurants hit this place with the family and get you some three Soldier Margaritas instead of one

Food was overpriced but was willing to pay due to location. I had never been there and will never go back. The food is mediocre and the service was terrible. Honestly, I would have left since the beginning had I not preordered. I walked in and waited near the “please wait here” sign. After several minutes of zero acknowledgement and being flat out ignored by both waitresses I said “excuse me” in Spanish to one of the waitresses near the bar area. She completely ignored me. Thinking she may not have heard me, I repeated myself a few more times until it became clear she was intentionally ignoring me. At this point I went around the bar, directly in front of her and repeated myself but in English this time. The fact that I spoke English seemed to catch her off guard and her attitude completely changed. I was very cold but still polite and asked to pick up my 3 item order (that had been placed 30mins prior). She said I would have to wait another 10 minutes since it still was not ready. I can understand the delay had the restaurant been full but there were literally only 3 tables being occupied! Also, the food was mediocre at best so there is no reason for these girls to have such a poop attitude. My receipt says Claudia but I got zero acknowledgment and was intentionally ignored by both. Both waitresses looked more Mexican than I am so I’m not sure why Claudia seemed to have a prejudice towards Spanish speaking customers. DO BETTER!!!
