Definitely will be coming back,
We did take 12 salteñas .
MUY MUY RICO!!!
This restaurant is a small gem serving traditional Bolivian dishes with specialties from “La Paz” (especially on weekends menu extends a lot)
Every time we visit the DMV we go to Bolivian restaurant as this are has lots, this one is awesome.
we actually are here on 2 occasions.
The service was very friendly and took great care of us on both times, it wasn’t busy when we went.
We tried the Lapping, Falso Conejo, Costillar de cordero, Charquekan, Pescado Frito, all super super delicious, drank with a pitcher of chicha morada and yummy yahua sauce.
I did not try the roasted chicken or the Peruvian food so I can’t speak about that. The restaurant is smaller and has smaller tables and booths so keep that in mind, also parking can be limited as it’s only a few spots in this tiny business nook, but we found parking both times we went.
Comida Boliviana de los mas rico, las 2 veces que visiste estuvo todo super!
lo recomiendo!
I do recommend, though, the banh mi shop at the other end of the shopping center. We stepped in there and I got a quick sandwich to go
I ordered a soup, and when it arrived, I was shocked to find a hair in it. Mistakes can happen, but what bothered me most was the way it was handled. I politely asked if the soup could be taken off the bill, or at least reduced. The owner, however, showed no care or concern. He dismissed the issue entirely, which to me says a lot about how little they value their customers.
My total bill was around $200, so the soup itself wasn’t about the money—it was about principle, respect, and basic standards of hygiene. Any good restaurant should take responsibility and at minimum acknowledge the mistake, but instead, I was treated as if my concern didn’t matter.
On top of that, the service overall was not great. The staff seemed inattentive, and there was no real effort to make the dining experience enjoyable or to recover from the situation. For a restaurant in this price range, that is simply unacceptable.
This experience left a very bad impression, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place. Restaurants are built not just on food, but on service and integrity—and sadly, both were lacking here.
I’ve dined at Casa del Paceño a couple of times now and have also ordered takeout, and I have to say, I’ve never had a single issue. As someone with an extensive background in hospitality, I know what good service looks like, and the servers here have always been fantastic.
I understand that some people have complained about the service, but in my experience, the staff has always been wonderful. What’s most important to me, however, is the food, and this restaurant truly excels. As someone who grew up in Cochabamba, Bolivia, where food is a religion, I can confidently say that Casa del Paceño does an incredible job.
Everything I have tried has been delicious, and I’ve never had an issue with any of my orders. All in all, this restaurant is excellent. I would, however, love to see **salteñas with fricasé** on the menu one day!
Congratulations and way to go, Casa del Paceño! Keep up the great work.
