Dan and Monica are amazing! The food is great, the people are friendly, portions are perfect. The mole chicken enchiladas were phenomenal. Tender chicken, high quality tortillas, and the mole sauce… smokey, rich, chocolatey, light heat, the perfect level of sweet and savory. Everything that comes out of their kitchen is plate-licking levels of good. If you are in Homer looking for Mexican food and good vibes this place is for you!

I can’t say enough good things about this place! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality. The food was phenomenal, every dish packed with flavor, freshness, and just the right amount of spice. The flavors made me reminisce about my own mother’s cooking. I consider myself a fierce critic of Mexican food. I have only 5 star for the food! The chilaquiles…omg!!

My partner and I went there at 5pm and were excited to try the new place as we were big fans of Homeslice in the same spot.
We walk in and were greeted rather coldly by the woman at the front counter. She wasn’t rude per se, but we could tell that she was a bit disinterested with us being there. She just points us towards the menu on the wall in the other room (just like Homeslice) and says “menu is over there”.
Honestly, this isn’t the reason I decided to leave a review. The reason was the food.
I ordered the quesabirria ($16) and my partner got the enchiladas ($25). The food came out fairly quickly as we were the only customers in the building that we saw.
Honestly, the Quesabirria was pretty decent. Just a birria taco smushed into a quesadilla, so it was hot and fresh. A little bland, but pretty good.
Unfortunately, my partner had a different experience with her enchiladas. The presentation was good, but everything was cold. The chicken inside the enchiladas was cold, the rice was cold and the beans were cold. The cheese sprinkled on top of the enchiladas wasn’t melting at all.
It seemed like they had the stuff just sitting out and forgot to heat the dish up before serving it.
It would have made A LITTLE sense if we had come in just before closing and we were served the last of the stuff. But their Google profile said that they closed at 8. So they had three hours of service left…so it was odd and a little inexcusable, in my opinion. The verde sauce was tasty though…but it would have been great if the food had been hot.
Overall it was pretty disappointing. “Mid” is what the cool kids are saying these days, I guess.

I work on the spit and this is my favorite place to grab food after work! The staff are friendly, Maddi remembers you when you come back, and it’s nice to be able to get authentic tacos in Alaska.

Food was a little over priced, but the service was not good. They brought out 1 persons food like 15 minutes before they brought out our son’s tacos, who brings out 2 plates and the other 15 minutes afterwards. Would definitely NOT recommend nor will we go back.
