Cozy little Spanish place with good food and great service. We tried the rabbit, which was really good; the paella, which was ok; and the tocino del cielo, which was great. The house wine is also very nice.

We have tried to go this restaurant 3 different times, when it says it is open on google but it is always closed. Maybe they are permanently closed.

This place is awesome! From the moment you walk in, this place has character. You feel like you’re stepping back through time to a classic establishment. Don Jesus was provided great and personable service. The food and house wine were delicious. This is a true gem I’m San Miguel de Allende. This restaurant has been around for more than 60 years and is the oldest restaurant in SMA.

I’ve been visiting Don Jesus since 1997. It’s a great experience ! He makes everything, the bread the wine (Tempranillo) . I read some idiot review that said something about canned mushrooms, nothing out of a can here ! The mushrooms are “a la vinaigrette” home made. This is Cuisine from Cadiz , Spain . Very traditional.
I invite you to enjoy this very personal experience . ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The most expensive mediocre food!
Paid 2.350 Pesos for 2 house menus ( approximately 138 USD).
Charged 35 USD for half liter ok open red wine! Worst paella with 3 pieces of dry shrimps and pieces of dried up meat. And so on. Don’t think the Mexicans were charged nearly as much.

I was told by two people I trusted that it was a great place but it was obvious from the moment we walked in that it was way too hot .I was sweating within ten minutes. The meal started with processed ham, goat cheese and canned mushrooms and the main coarse must have been gathered leftovers from the week before because it was so bad that no one ate anything. The owner didn’t ask why no one ate anything or seem to care. All four people in my party agreed it was the worst place they have ever eaten. I would never go back there again even if it was free. I felt cheated because it was clear that the mom and pop operation was too lazy to cook that night.
