We recently went to this restaurant again, and while there were things we truly enjoyed, our experience ended up being a bit mixed. We’ve always loved the atmosphere here—the space is beautiful, inviting, and the employees are consistently friendly. The service and the vibe have always been some of its strongest points.

Unfortunately, the food this time didn’t quite meet expectations. The fish was cooked well, but it really lacked flavor. The shrimp and scallops were also inconsistent in their cook; some were fine, but several bordered on overcooked. For the price point, especially when spending around $90 for two people, we really expect consistency and top-notch quality.

One thing we had forgotten from our previous visit is that the restaurant upsells drink sizes without mentioning it. If you don’t specifically request the smaller size, they automatically serve the larger one. It’s a small detail, but it feels sneaky and honestly a bit annoying.

We also ran into the same issue we had a year ago with the gift card. It was purchased online as a gift, but once again it couldn’t be used in the restaurant. Apparently it only works online, which makes the in-person dining gift card essentially unusable. Staff were kind and said they would bring it up to management, but it’s disappointing that this glitch still hasn’t been fixed after all this time.

We were genuinely excited when this restaurant first opened and were really wowed by it. Lately, though, the experience feels hit or miss. We still want to love this place, but consistency matters—especially at this price point. With just a bit more attention to detail in the kitchen and clarity with gift cards and drink sizes, this could easily return to being one of our favorites.

As a fourth generation Loa Angeles native that was raised and spent much of my adult life in SoCal I am always in the lookout for good Hispanic and South American cuisine. As a recent transplant to Sioux Falls from the west coast I have struggled to find much beyond some over cheesed Americanized TexMex that I find repulsive. I stumbled across this little gem while scoping out the stores and restaurants next to my new loft at the Carlton. The staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. The shook me up a made to order margarita that had jalapeño infused tequila and muddled cilantro (think Mexican Mojito). They were eager to make something that was off menu and what resulted, was margarita that looked great and tasted better. The food was good and came out promptly. The only reason they didn’t get five stars for food is because I am super discriminate when it comes to to rating cuisine. I am sure that it would get a 5 in most people’s book and you won’t find anyplace better in Sioux Falls to bring the family and enjoy good food, great atmosphere, and some amazing staff

Great, food, staff, and atmosphere. Had white sauce that reminded me of home in Virginia. Ordered shots and they came out with sparklers. Saw a table order maybe fajitas and they lit the whole thing on fire table side, while still on the server’s arm.

Fun little spot for sure. We went for our first time around 230pm. From start to finish everything was great. Salsa and chips very good, & the white cream sauce they brought out with it. Iwould to by that by the gallon. Food was beautiful and delishious. I can’t wait to visit again soon. Drink menu looks amazing as well!

Sorry for my hiatus! Works been busy and I haven’t had time to write many reviews, I’ll do better! Thank you all for your support, my contributions have now hit 8.2 million views!

Down to it… Another Mexican restaurant! Trust me, I’m not complaining. This could very easily become my new favorite. The food here is outstanding. The wife and I shared the Molcajete which is HUGE! Comes with two side plates with beans, rice, and flour tortillas. The drink menu was very enticing, we just had to try something, absolutely beautiful! All their drinks coming out looked top notch.

Service was crazy! They have probably the most comprehensive team service I’ve ever seen. There were people bringing more chips and salsa and filling drinks left and right. One downside was food auctioning, which if you’ve read my reviews, is a pet peeve of mine. Food should always be placed in front of the person who ordered it, not asked to be claimed. Definitely room for improvement on that front.

We finished the night with a super cute churro cart which was as fun as it was delicious.

Altogether, a great Mexican restaurant with a fantastic menu, great flavors, and beautiful and delicious drinks. We will definitely be going back, highly recommend you pay them a visit as well!

When we got here we were seated very quickly. We got our chips and salsa and drinks very quickly with great service and a smile. Everyone we talked to was very Courteous and kind. They gave us just the right amount of time to look the menu over. After ordering I was not expecting the food to get to us that quickly, what a great response time. Usually I’m not a big fan of rice and beans but I still eat them and today WOW they were amazingly delicioso. The waiter was impeccable on his drink refill timing and taking away dirty plates and such, that you do not find often so thank you for that. Everything was a very pleasant experience for a first time and many more to come. So if you’re in the Dawley farms area shopping and need a bite to eat make sure to stop in Thank you and your great crew for an awesome experience. B. Wilson

My friend and I went for lunch and each ordered a Skinny Margarita. First of all, the size and price of the drinks were not listed in the menu. When it came, it was 34 OUNCES. Okay love that, but when the bill came, that skinny margarita was $28.50?!?! And believe me, I am all for businesses making a profit but I did my research. They used top shelf tequila, I’ll give them that, but the cost of the shooter size that was in the drink is about $5.50. And since it’s a skinny margarita, it’s pretty much just juice aside from the tequila. The presentation was lovely, very fancy and all and the flavor was great, but there is no reason on God’s green Earth to charge that much for a drink. They would make a fair profit if they charged $15 or $16 dollars, $28.50 is just greedy.

Of course we paid our bill and went on our way, but we will never live down the fact that we paid almost $30 for a drink when our meals were each about $18. The food was fine but not good enough for us to go again. As if the egregiously priced drinks weren’t enough to keep us away.

3 1/2 stars

Pros: The food was good and plentiful. I had the Texas Burrito and my husband had the Pina Loca, which came in half a pineapple. We both were more than full when we left.

Cons: it was very busy and noisy, so it wasn’t easy to converse across the table. They have clearly put as many tables in the building as they can, so there isn’t much room between them. Instead of getting warm, thin chips, they were cold and indistinguishable from chips from a bag. The hostess neglected to give us tableware and we had to ask for some from a passing waiter after our food was delivered. My husband’s 32 oz. beer was $12, and my skinny margarita was $18.50! No wonder they don’t have prices next to the drinks on the menu.

With tip, the two of us spent almost $100 for a meal out. A little more than I care to spend for a regular dinner out, but not awful for an occasional special dinner.

Food was very good. Nice opener with chips and salsa (and a weird tartar sauce type dip). One order incorrect – beans instead of rice & cheese quesadilla instead of chicken- still good. Beans were better than the rice anyway. Recommend the birria tacos. Not happy about the credit card 3% upcharge, who carries cash these days? Based on that I probably wouldn’t return.

Food was great. It is a busy place with tables close together. Servers were all very friendly and attentive. They flew around a plane with tequila shots, “Tequila flight” and they handed out free shots to random people.
The table next to us got the churro dessert and it was a cute setup.
