Delicious and authentic Peruvian flavors. We visited on a Sunday for lunch and decided to try to classics of Peruvian cuisine the ceviche mixto and lomo saltado, both very excellent. We also tried the anticucho carretillero and the cuy chactado specials because you can’t find those at pretty much any other Peruvian restaurant in the area. The cuy was perfectly done, full of flavor and the anticuchos were also amazing. The sauce that come with the cuy was particularly good, spicy and full of flavor. We also tried the chicha morada and really liked it. Food wise, everything was great. The service was good, but they could be a bit more attentive. Finally, the atmosphere is very normal, but we were expecting that from some of the pictures we saw online. Finally, the portions are generous but their prices are comparable to other restaurants that offer much better overall experiences.

True authentic Peruvian food!! Coming from a Peruvian, I’ve been on the hunt for an authentic spot to get my classic Peruvian dishes as new fusion restaurants start flourishing all around Montgomery County. This is definitely one of the best in the area! Indulge in the fine homemade quality, generous portion sizes, fair prices, and of course the pisco sours!

We had dinner at the restaurant and it was a good dining experience. All the food items were good as well. The service could be a little better as the servers were not there, and we had to get their attention. They do provide a good quantity of food for the prices. It is a casual place, so definitely check them out.

The food at this Peruvian restaurant was absolutely delicious. Very fresh and flavorful. The kitchen clearly delivers authentic, well-seasoned dishes.
Unfortunately, the customer service was really disappointed. Our server seemed uninterested and did not have customer service attention. More training needs to be done and practiced.

Went early and it was a bit quiet. Absolutely legit Peruvian food. Not mexified or turned into some sort of fusion. They seem to cook with the most authentic Peruvian ingredients one could find in there US! I have probably been to over 50 Peruvian restaurants in the US and this ranks at the very top!

Only negatives were that it was a bit pricey (quality over quantity) and my beer was very pricey. Otherwise nice and clean restaurant with awesome food!

Will be coming baby in the future!

Just visited La Caleta Peruvian Restaurant in Montgomery Village, MD, and what a find! Opened just 11 days ago, this place is already serving some incredible food.

I started with the Ceviche de Pescado – fresh and flavorful with a perfect balance of tanginess. The Papas a la Huancaina was creamy and rich, just the way it should be. The Seco a la Nortena was hearty and savory. But the standout dish for me was the Lomo Saltado – tender beef, veggies, and crispy fries, all coming together in a delightful mix.

To drink, I had the Chicha Morada and Maracuya juice, both refreshing and sweet, complementing the meal perfectly.

Overall, La Caleta offers great food at a great value. I’ll definitely be coming back for more. If you’re in the area, don’t miss out on this new gem. Highly recommended!

La Caleta might look a bit outdated, but that’s part of its charm these days! Definitely recommend visiting!

As peruvian. I have to say they have traditional peruvian food. Excellent taste, no fusion with American. It’s like eating in Peru. As soon as you come in they give you Canchita, with aji. Which is what we get in peru in cevicherias. We had carapulcra with sopa seca. Trio Marino ,.causa limeña. And papa huancaina
