The service was just as impressive: warm, friendly, and very attentive without feeling overwhelming. We both ordered the brunch sampler and were pleasantly surprised by how incredibly tasty everything was every bite was delicious and well-prepared. The drinks were refreshing and reasonably priced, which was a nice bonus.
Overall, a fantastic experience from ambiance to food to service. We would definitely come back and highly recommend it!
We got to share the appetizers for two, which came with cocktails, and we ordered the Le Bûcheron, which was the most decadent chocolatey dessert there is!
The vibe of the restaurant is really great + they also serve a mean breakfast! Unfortunately I couldn’t go back during my trip to try out the breakfast, but it’s on my list whenever I do go back!
Dinner offers some creative dishes with a Quebecoise style. I love the tender halibut over the sweet potato puree and roasted vegetables with lemon and caper sauce— melt in your mouth!
We have come here many times— with friend and family and will always return!
We were two couples and everything was perfect from the start. Great mimosas, relaxed vibe, and an amazing breakfast. We ordered the local brunch plate and the breakfast casserole, and both were absolutely delicious. Fresh, comforting, and full of flavor.
The service really stood out. Our server was friendly, attentive, and gave us great recommendations, which made the whole experience even better.
Big congratulations to the owner, Yannick. You can really feel the passion behind this place.
We’ll definitely be back.
The vibe is very cozy and home-like. The restaurant is outfitted with a brick and exposed wood interior, much taxidermy, and one half of a vehicle. The other half is located in their related restaurant, La Buche. Very very cool atmosphere with great music playing.
I loved that the main meals were divided into general food, French food, and Quebecois food on the menu. My preference when traveling is to eat the local cuisine and this made it easy. My party of 2 ordered the house poutine with maple glazed pork belly as an appetizer. For our main meal, we ordered the Beef Bourguignon and the Tartiflette a l’Origine de Charlevoix. Both were fantastic!
Aside from all of the great food and music, the service made our experience. I believe our waitress’s name was Océane. She went above and beyond by sharing a hand-written list of recommendations for the next town we were visiting in Quebec. Highly recommend La Buchette if you are looking for a nice meal with a cozy atmosphere!
The service was great and the atmosphere felt warm and cozy.
I was really looking forward to a cheesy onion soup moment, but it wasn’t what I expected. The bread and cheese were served on the side, so you don’t get that dramatic cheesy pull you’re hoping for.
The presentation was beautiful, but overall the flavors were just okay for me. I personally felt the seasoning leaned a bit on the bland side, but maybe that’s just me having a saltier palate.
One thing I would like to note is that their menu changes seasonally, so don’t rely too heavily on older reviews because dishes might not be available anymore.
