I had just arrived the night before. I was out for a walk and came across this place. The atmosphere was like an old world European cafe when I arrived in the morning. Bustling with people and conversation. I ordered a black coffee and an avocado toast. Both were fantastic. I would go as far to say it is the best coffee in Fort Lauderdale. Update: I came the next day and Sal, the owner, offered me this amazing hot chocolate. It was super thick and silky. It reminded me of the Spanish hot chocolate I had in Barcelona.

I visited La Bottega Caffè on Bayview Drive, and it had a really warm, inviting feel. The staff was kind and welcoming, which made the experience even nicer. I tried a cappuccino along with a pastry, and both were fresh and really enjoyable. The atmosphere felt relaxed—perfect for sitting down and taking a break for a bit. It came across as a comfortable neighborhood spot where you can enjoy good coffee without any rush.

This caffe is a true hidden gem. My wife and I go to Italy often and always try to find authentic Italian bars in the US with little success. Then we found La Bottega and this is it! Fresh baked pastries, delicious coffee, and world class service. The owner Sal is very welcoming and hospitable and thus has attracted a loyal following of regulars who are equally as friendly. Transport yourself to a little slice of Italy in south Florida and visit for a coffee.

Outstanding coffee shop, where we also had a great pasta as well. Ask the owner for his homemade chocolate and make sure you get the hot chocolate—fantastic!

La Bottega Caffe on Bayview Drive is a wonderful local hidden gem. Sal has created such a charming, welcoming spot that I’m so glad I was recently introduced to. The food is consistently fantastic — I’ve had the chicken piccata probably ten times already, plus the penne arrabbiata and a delicious potato-and-artichoke pasta. The croissants are incredible; the cream-filled one might be my favorite, but when it’s not available, the apricot and chocolate are just as amazing. Their lattes are lovely too.
I find myself going several times a week now. Sometimes I settle in for a full meal, coffee, and dessert; other times I grab take-out or stop in for a quick latte and croissant. The café has a warm, neighborhood feel — many of the tables are filled with locals speaking Italian, chatting across the room in a way that adds to the charm. It only takes a couple of visits before you feel like you’ve been coming here for years. Truly a special place!
