COME FOR THE TACOS. Seriously. That is the whole review.
The tacos here are a little cheaper than most places and somehow way better than they have any right to be. I went with three kinds because I respect myself. Barbacoa, bacon, egg / vegetarian. Every single one was good but let us not kid ourselves. Barbacoa is king and it remains undefeated. Always.
My wife ordered the sour cream enchiladas and was clearly very happy with her life choices. My kids went full breakfast mode with pancakes, eggs, sausage and bacon. The bacon was a bit overcooked so next time I may ask them to stop just short of turning it into charcoal.
Service was excellent. They checked on us often and brought anything we needed without us having to do that awkward looking around thing. The inside is a little worn down but honestly that just fits the bill with authentic Mexican. If the place looked fancy I would be suspicious.
We will absolutely be back once our pants fit again.

Not my best experience with Mexican food. The food was just okay, but not delicious. The meat lacked flavor and didn’t taste very fresh.
The worst part was the service—really bad! The waitress barely attended to us, had no charm, and was extremely slow. After bringing our dishes, she never returned to check on us, and we had to go to the cashier just to ask for to-go boxes.
The place itself looks old, dirty, and poorly lit. I definitely won’t be coming back.

Dine here at least once to twice a week for breakfast and/or dinner and it’s never disappointing but today we decided to have an early dinner around 3:30, service was horrible and food was worse. I had 2 beef fajita tacos and one chicharron taco and the tortillas just crumbled like they were old and the beef fajita was dry and burned to a crisp, complained to a waitress that was not our waiter because we had not seen him thru the duration of our meal for refills or to check on us and she said I will let the cook know and that was it. Prior to receiving our meal we had to find out waiter to request more chips for our queso and a refill. There was only one other person dining inside so they were not busy. Usually not disappointed there but today was a waste of $50 for mine and my family’s meal.

This place is a hidden jewel in Bryan. They have great Mexican and Tex-Mex food. They serve breakfast all day. I have attached photos of the current menu as of June 2025.

I have been eating lunch here once a week for several years. The service has always been marginal. Today I walked in behind two gentlemen and in front of another gentleman. Our orders were taken within a few minutes of each other by separate people. The gentleman behind me received his food first and two in front of me received their food next. Both tables were finished eating when my food was delivered. I ordered the lunch special and I could see both other tables ordered off the menu. I asked the waitress why it took 30 minutes for my food to be served and was told ” I don’t know” I brought attention to the other two tables being finished eating by the time my food arrived. once again “I don’t know” My food was cold like it had been sitting and not brought to the table. When another waitress was told about the cold I was told that she did not know why. That was all that was said or done. I did not eat it and paid the tab. Did not want to but did. As I was paying I told the cashier about the long wait for the food and was told “OK”, told her about the cold food and was told “OK”, told her I would never be back and was told “OK”. These people know me from the years I have been going there. Their wait staff can be rude but always tolerated. Today was the last straw for me. I was told by others that what I experienced today is usually the norm , they don’t care. First time this bad and the last time for me.

Place is really nice since I’ve remodeled and cleaned it up. Some looks nicer from the outside with the new deck. Got here about 930 Sunday morning ordered Caldo and two tacos and left at 10:15 because all I ever got was iced tea when I showed up, nobody was here two people in the dining area. By the time I left the dining area was packed And I still had not gotten my food. Iced tea was excellent. Chips were tasteless and salsa was hot by temperature and had zero flavor would’ve liked to try this place but this is the second time and last time because it’s continuously the same service another note their air-conditioning is never on and it is always warm insideat least a couple times I have been first time I thought it was just maybe during the remodel but now it’s done and it’s still hot in the restaurant

I was recommended to come here and longing for menudo for two years, I thought I would try this place.
The staff are very sweet and accommodating.
As I sat waiting for my food, I noticed a couple with maybe their daughter that left a whole table of food instead of getting it to go. I find that strange.
When I sat down at my business to eat my lunch, I was a little surprised. I ordered 2 ala carte chili rellenos with cheese.
I’m not sure what type of white cheese they used, but you chew and chew like Bubble gum. It’s just a bland taste.
The menudo, which I was thoroughly looking forward to, was quite greasy. The type was overcooked as it had a mushy constancy. A lot of juice, a good amount of meat, and very little hominy. I’ve never had it with honeycomb tripe, so that was unique for me.
Everyone has their own personal opinions. Mine on this would be a 3.5 overall. It’s not the worst, and not the best.

Our waitress was very attentive, friendly, bilingual and patient. Their food is packed with flavor and they serve a good amount. And so far have the hottest salsa I’ve ever had. Their plain rice (without peas & carrots) is so moist, fluffy and tender. I could tell their refried beans were made from scratch and not from a can or prepacked. The red enchilada sauce was not runny. Good and clean atmosphere, and what was extra nice about the atmosphere is that the music was not loud. I’ll be going back soon to taste their Menudo!
