Was told this place had great original Mexican food. Stopped in for lunch. My wife ordered two steak tacos and I ordered three steak tacos. The meat was likely steak at some point but it was so finely chopped and dry it was difficult to tell. There was literally a tablespoon of meat on each taco. A small amount of lettuce and some cilantro. The place smells like rotten meat. The tacos were bad. I won’t be back and would not recommend this place.

Love this place! The vibe is super chill and the staff are really friendly. The food is always fresh and tasty everything we tried hit the spot. The tacos, fajitas and chimichangas were amazing! Portions are good and prices aren’t crazy. Definitely a spot I’d come back to again and again.

We live close by and that is a blessing! Our favorite order is burritos but we like to try other items. Awesome menu, authentic Mexican food served with love and an amazing staff! We will continue to buy at Ka Botana. Eating in is cozy and laid back but basic. We are close so usually bring the meal home and always enjoy. Give them a try and let your taste buds decide!

Okay, so, when it comes to Mexican food, I have pretty specific tastes. But this place? It’s the real deal. The flavors totally remind me of being in Mexico. If anyone tells you it’s not good, they’re way off. You should definitely give it a try yourself. It’s genuinely authentic Mexican cuisine.

This is your traditional Mexican store with a restaurant. You place your orders with the ladies at the food counter. Then you pay at the front counter.
Once your food is given, make sure you ask for whatever it is you might need extra at the time. There is no follow-up once your food is served.
You can always walk up to the food counter and ask for whatever you might need later. (To go containers)
The food portions are generous, and the prices are fair.
It is worth a stop if you’re in the area and looking for a filling lunch.
The look of the restaurant reminds me when you go to another country and eat where the locals eat. Does not look the best, but LA Botana definitely serves its purpose.

Stopped in just to try something new and found this small little spot. Didn’t really know what to expect, but the food seriously surprised me. Everything had a lot of flavor and tasted really fresh. It’s one of those places that doesn’t look fancy but the food speaks for itself. Definitely glad I gave it a try and I’ll be back.

I usually come here every timeIvisitLake Wales, but thus time the food was not good. I asked for Carne asada tostadas, they gave me ground beef and insisted that it was carne asada! I asked for a “biftec” plate, which is steak, and I got a meet cut in small pieces full of onions and peppers.

I moved here from California and my husband and I think the food here is as good as that found in San Diego, which is pretty terrific. The secret here is the meats, which are seasoned to perfection, though my daughter is vegetarian and she loves the food here too. Portions are large. An added bonus is you can check out the in house grocery store and pick up some Mexican candy for dessert or ingredients to make something at home. They even have a great selection of leather cowboy and work boots. The dining area is pretty typical for a traditional taqueria, nothing fancy. But then again, you are here for the food, right?

I went to the back to order my food and the nice woman didn’t speak a lot of English but I had to go pay for my food before I got it up in the front of the store I ordered a pound of steak for tacos and a burrito if I’d of went anywhere else they would have gave you the tortillas to make your tacos out of but this place didn’t they charge you extra for the tortillas so it all ended up being right around thirty nine dollars and the meat was so dry when I got it home which was probably six miles and they gave us onion and celantro lime and when I started going there and getting there burrito it was excellent now not so much not worth nine dollars anyways none of it was worth what they charged
