my mom got the wrong order, she said it was just alright. She ordered a croissant au jam on et fromage, but got le croque monsieur instead. Similar, but not the same.
The bakery section was so cute tho
Pretty dang good Eggs Benedict although the portion came across as small. I suppose they tried to make up for it with a large amount of rosemary potatoes which were also delicious but seemed to detract from the entree.
Hollandaise sauce was a little short of perfect and had a little too much butter in it such that it was on the verge of breaking. Eggs were cooked almost exactly as I ordered. Canadian bacon would have benefited from a little time on the flattop to better develop its flavor. English muffin halves were small and not quite toasted enough. Taken as a whole, it was still in the top quarter of the Eggs Benedicts I’ve been served in the STL area.
Kid 2 ordered a Belgian waffle with fruit and only ate half so I knew something was wrong. I tried it myself to see what was missing. The fruit was good but the waffle was far inferior to what we make at home and a huge disappointment for a restaurant such as this.
Service sucked – no way to sugarcoat that portion of the experience. Based on their price point and their following I expected far better.
Now their selection is awesome. So many cakes and macaroons. They do have a select few gluten free options, but not sure on the cross contamination.
Overall if you are near by, swing by and get some goodies!
The complementary roll wasn’t great and the butter was cold. But I wasn’t expecting to get that anyway so I didn’t mind. I would have liked the overall meal to be a little warmer, but it was still good.
Ordered creme brulee for dessert. It was very sweet, tasty, had a good texture. It was premade though, so the crunchy sugar layer on top wasn’t crunchy as it had absorbed into the custard. Still a good dessert but I missed that made-to-order part.
Atmosphere was great through and good location.
