For main courses we had the John Dory and a beet risotto. Both perfectly cooked and very tasty.
We highly recommend coming to this restaurant.
As for the food, the starters were decent but nothing memorable. The main course was a letdown — the fish was overcooked on the outside and undercooked inside. Even the bread served was very basic, lacking the quality you’d expect from a restaurant of this caliber.
Overall, aside from the great service, the dining experience fell short of expectations.
The two ladies who run the place work incredibly hard, and it really shows. Be sure to make a reservation before going—I did mine by email, which worked perfectly.
In my opinion, this is the best place to eat in Villefranche. There are many great restaurants here, but overall, this one stands out as the best.
We loved it so much we went there twice in a week haha
AMEI o restaurante!
And the food was great. The risotto, the mahi-mahi dish, the zucchini with cheese, etc were all amazing. Will definitely go back again.
Reservation is required.
Overall ok price for ok taste food, poor service, cute atmosphere.
We were provided with a pallet cleanser to start, which was a cold, watermelon, tomato basil, and balsamic soup, which was absolutely divine (5/5)! For our starter, we both got a melon and watermelon salad with fresh goat cheese, and basil topped with olives and hazelnuts (5/5). For our main course, I got the mahi-mahi with a green vegetable sauce of some kind and lightly sautéed vegetables (5/5). It was absolutely delicious and the skin on the mahi-mahi was perfectly crisp. My fiancé got veal and he says it’s one of the *top 10 steaks he’s ever eaten in his life!* It was so tender, so juicy, melted in your mouth, and had hints of nutmeg and cloves in the au jus, which brought out flavor stupendously (5/5). For dessert, we had the brownie with vanilla ice cream, and of course it was above and beyond. What was plated as three small pieces of brownie turned out to be the richest brownie I’ve ever had in my life with deliciously light and fluffy piped chocolate mousse next to it and shards of brownie crisp on top with the smallest dollop of salted caramel. it was absolutely divine (5/5)! My fiancé also got a cappuccino and a glass of cabados as his digestif.
This restaurant is easily five out of five stars, and we would recommend it to anyone who comes to Côte d’Azur!
*NOTE: While not a restriction for us, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the ENTIRE MENU was GLUTEN FREE! Super cool for those with dietary restrictions 🙂
Service as a 10*! Unusual for us but we both had the espresso martini for dessert and it was the best we’ve ever had! Reservations certainly required. We were sad to see many sent away and miss out what we were enjoying!
