Stepping into the restaurant felt like stepping back in time to the Victorian era, with the decor, clientele, and staff all contributing to what it must have been like in that time period, you’ll see what I mean should you ever visit.
For dinner, our table started with, grilled octopus, lobster and shrimp scampi, and Sardinia style clams which were all tasty, with the clams being a bit spicy which I liked.
For our entrees we had lobster ravioli, the pappardelle short rib, chicken piccata, clams and shrimp, veal chops, all of which we liked. Only the clams and shrimp was described as a bit dry and lacking flavor.
If you’re a fan of fine dining, I recommend La Bella Vita. The service, food, and atmosphere were generally good. The taste of food can be very subjective, as some prefer more muted flavors, whereas I prefer well seasoned, bold contrasting flavors I would say the flavors were generally muted but still tasty and I believe it’s inline with the clientele.
With all that being said, I liked the restaurant and I would visit again. I had asked my table to take photos, most of us were too busy eating, but we did get shots of a few dishes.
This charming little spot made for a relaxing breakfast with beautiful views overlooking the lake. We were seated right away—likely thanks to visiting in the off-season (April)—and Colin, our server, was friendly and attentive throughout.
The food hit the spot: the avocado toast with poached eggs was fresh and flavorful, the meat lover’s omelette was hearty, and the blueberry pancakes were light, fluffy, and delicious. Pricing was very reasonable, especially for the location and quality of the meal.
While it wasn’t a five-star culinary experience, it was still a great place to enjoy a casual breakfast—especially considering the limited options in the area. A solid pre-hike stop or a peaceful start to your day.
Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly, and asked if we wanted to sit outside overlooking the lake, or inside, and we of course said outside. We had prime seating on the terrace and enjoyed the lush greenery and the lake waking up. There was a comfortable breeze that made the whole experience top notch. Our waiter, Fabian, was super sweet, friendly, and full of smiles. We decided to do the al a carte option as opposed to the buffet, even though many of the other patrons who were staying at the Sagamore did do this. I had my heart set on the thick cut stuffed French toast, because it’s fancy and I’m 40 now so why not – while hubby got their lobster eggs benedict. The food came out beautiful and was just as delicious! My french toast was piled high with berries and powdered sugar, and hubby’s eggs came with rosemary roasted potatoes. We cleaned out our plates happily.

Wonderful meal! The staff was delightful and the food was excellent with very reasonable prices.
Book to sit outside for a breathtaking view of lake George. We were treated to a massive storm that rolled in making the dinner one to remember for the family for years to come.
Wanted to mention my lobster ravioli was loaded with fresh lobster and was very tasty with fancy mushrooms and other treats. This dish was priced in the 40 dollar range which was amazing because down the road at beyond the sea they charged over 60 for a smaller version of this dish.
The power went out from the storm but the staff was very professional and still turned out the dishes perfectly .
We really enjoyed our meal and Would highly recommend ❤️❤️❤️
It is convenient if you are staying at or visiting the resort and wanted something to dress up for.
The appetizers were generally better than the entrees.
I personally enjoyed the chicken saltimbocca and the short rib. The fillet duo was ok. I heard that the lobster tail was not good so maybe stay away from that.
The pizza is really not their specialty and I honestly didn’t enjoy it much at all.
All in all, go for the atmosphere and convenience but dont hope for the best meal of your life.
