A little biased here, but my father built LaBarbe’s back in the late 1920’s. It’s gone through changes over the years however, it still remains a wonderful place and still has the great food and great owners. I’m headed back to eat there today (8/6).

Ordered take out from their special which included a soup. They did not provide the soup. I returned to complain and they basically laughed at me and that I should have asked for it. I substituted the fries for salad but who would omit something on their special. Is it the customers task to ask for additions already offered in a special? Did not appreciate and rather not return to somewhere who blames customers for something they offer. Get it right Done

Me and my 6 kids stopped here after snow tubing today (Christmas Eve) for a bite to eat. At first I was thinking I made the wrong choice because the only person working was a older lady (like in her 70’s) she waited on us and cooked the food. To my surprise the food was fantastic and the lady was very very sweet. We was the only family in the the dinning area but that made it better. The prices was great as well. I fed 7 people on $68.00 and we all walked out with full belly’s.

I walked in with 3 other people. I had a water in my hand and was planning to order an alcoholic beverage. Just as I placed my bottled water on the bar as we sat down, the bartender rudely told me that I couldn’t have my water in the restaurant. Her reasoning was because they sell water, so if I want a water, I needed to buy one. I turned around and walked out. The place was run down and dirty so no loss on my end. The other people had one drink then took their business elsewhere!

I ordered spaghetti with meat sauce to go. I was very disappointed. when I got home and opened it they had given me linguine with meat sauce which tasted horrible.It was nauseating. It wasn’t seasoned at all. Also the place is raggedy and dirty. I’ll never patronize them again and from the vibes I got I get the feeling that any black person saying that they’ll never go there again would be exactly what they would prefer.
