Their move to a bigger space seems to have gone well. The menu is a little bit bigger and there’s more interesting stuff to explore. They also now have table service.
Had three tacos yesterday and loved them all but the beef cheek was the best.
Congratulations on your move across the parking lot. Looking forward to diving deeper into the new menu items!

Wow. Absolutely incredible. I got the Alambre Hawaiian and it is probably the best food I’ve had in a long time. So flavorful and the meat was perfectly cooked. Had a lovely char on it. It was huge, so a good meal to share or to take some leftovers home! I also loved the topping bar they had with different sauces/salsas.

We were in Rice Lake and hungry for some Mexican food. The reviews of this place looked great. Short story, La Autentica is great!
The chips they brought were light and crisp. Just fantastic. The house made salsa to go with them was exceptional. Not spicy. Just how a mild salsa should be. Fresh. Tastes great.
I saw they had their “Famous” Walking taco bowls. I got that with the Asada for the meat. A little pricy, but it was so delicious. One of the best things I’ve ever had at a Mexican restaurant. If it cost less, I probably would have eaten two of them it tasted so good. Plenty of food, I certainly didn’t go away hungry, I just wanted to keep eating it was so delicious.
My son got the chimichanga with house made chorizo. It was incredibly tasty. Not really spicy, like most chorizo, but just below a medium heat. Great taste and good portions.
If you’re ever in Rice Lake, give La Autentica a try. As their name says, absolutely authentic Mexican food. Thanks for the great meal!

Nice Mexican restaurant in Rice Lake. As someone who is used to “authentic” Mexican food, I was honestly a bit skeptical of La Autenica. The skepticism was unwarranted. This is truly on the same level as other real Mexican establishments. The food is quite good and you get good portions. The pricing is very reasonable. The atmosphere is casual but fun.
Would recommend.

La Auténtica in Rice Lake has the best authentic Mexican street food! They offer the best margaritas , micheladas, and my fave street tacos with a complementary salsa bar. Love this place and I would recommend it to locals and anyone visiting the area.

We came for dinner here. We were impressed at the amount of food and everything tasted good. We didn’t think they were extremely welcoming. It wasn’t clear to us if the food would be brought to our table or how it worked. We waited a while for our food. It is also pretty crowded in there, I would not bring a large group to this restaurant. I didn’t appreciate that there were no highchairs. Booster seats with no belt are not appropriate for younger children. We would probably come again though for the yummy food!

This is a great restaurant to visit, the food was authentic, the service was great. The restaurant gave of the vibe of family but also business casual. Everything we ordered was exactly how we wanted it and expected it. There was plenty of parking too.

The food here was amazing. The service was quick and the restaurant is very clean and the theme is fun. I got a tamale which was my favorite. We also got a burrito, fajita, and a large order of chips and salsa. We ended up bringing boxes home. They have a toppings salad bar, which I thought was an awesome idea. I will definitely be back.

It’s not even close, this is not only the best Mexican food in Barron County, it’s the best food PERIOD in Barron County. I have tried almost everything on the menu and never had anything I wasn’t impressed with. From tacos to sopes, burritos and tortas. It’s ALL fantastic!!!! This is easily the first place I will bring people visiting from out of town. It’s a must!
Everyone in there is always smiling and welcoming. The place feels alive with the art on the wall and music.
The prices are very good. Around $3 a taco. You can have a few tacos for a $10 and feel full. The Al Pastor is my favorite, but they are all good.
They have a salsa bar that completes everything. The habanero salsa and the avocado salsas are my go to every time. They have about 10 different salsas and toppings you can pick from. Something for everyone.
For dessert, grab a tres leches cake. It finishes the meal off perfectly.
Let me put this in perspective, the first time I tried it was a Friday, I went back Saturday and Sunday to get more. Don’t miss this GEM!!!!

Great Mexican tacos (& more)! Order chips if you’re hungry! Awesome salsa bar w/many choices. We had Al Pastor (excellent), shrimp & beef cheeks (v good but rich!). Kids had ground beef & Al pastor – they are not totally “plain” but we made do. The beef has a lot of mix ins (Lima beans, potatoes, carrots etc). We would go back! (Passing through on a road trip). Apparently they are moving soon to a bigger location nearby. Cheers!
