Amazing Mexican restaurant in the heart of Monrovia. I had the chicken chipotle and it was amazing. Massive portion sizes here. Delicious food, reasonably priced, definitely recommend for those stopping through the cute small town of Monrovia. Service was friendly and quick. Atmosphere was very nice, we were the only ones inside for a while. There is a free parking lot right outside of the restaurant which was not full even during popular lunch hours! If you’re sick of the constant LA traffic come to this little town. It’s a great escape from the big city hustle culture with plenty of things to do and try.

Looking for Mexican cuisine in the area with large portions, hospitable staff, and incredible food? Look no further.
La Adelita is a small restaurant just off of Myrtle, but don’t let its size fool you. Considering I just ordered two tacos a la carte, the portion sizes are very generous and oh so tasty. I ordered the fish taco and the soft carnitas taco: the fish taco’s charred flavor was on point and the carnitas taco’s richness packs a wallop way above its weight. The free chips and salsa are also not to be taken lightly… both are so fresh and have a great kick in flavor and texture!
Eating as a party of four, the wait time for our respective orders was about twenty or so minutes… the wait time is worth it since you will be kept fed with the chips and salsa!
Supporting local businesses is always a must, and this is one definitely worth supporting!

Quaint restaurant in downtown Monrovia.
We enjoyed our meal – the portions were just right. We also appreciated the friendliness and the attentiveness of our server. They some tables outside for that Al fresco feel.
There’s plenty of parking across and the place is only a few steps from Myrtle.
Also they have an extended happy hour.
Tip: right next to it is a good (unmarked) empanada’s place.

Customer service was great. The food was good too, but some of the items lacked flavor. The red sauce chilaquiles had no flavor. The sauce seemed like water with red pigment. The only way I was able to get it to have flavor was using the pico de gallo salsa and pouring it over and it made it slighter better. Furthermore, I had a cafe de olla, and to my knowledge and experience, it’s suppose to be sweet, and unfortunately it wasn’t. I was disappointed. On the other hand, the machaca with scrambled eggs was really delicious. The meat was tender and tasted good. I also had the size of potatoes and they were good too. Oh, they also serve mimosas.

The service was great. Ate outside on the sidewalk. Really nice with friends. Wonderful conversation. Ordered shredded beef with eggs, rice, and beans. Enjoyed it, nothing spectacular. Will go back to try something else. Eating outside is the real draw. Small restaurant, fills up fast.
