Outstanding place to get some great BBQ! It was ready fast. Really fast. It was ready before I could fill a cup coke fast! Cheddar sausage was delicious. I like the difference from regular sausage. Sauce was good and paired well with the brisket.
Open air seating on the road was quaint and reminded me alot of home.

I was craving some bbq, so I decided to stop by this place for the first time since I heard positive reviews about it already. The area is outside, but there is enough space for seatings. Service was pretty nice and quick. I ordered the “Top Gun,” which is an order of 2 meats with 2 sides ($20.00). For the meats, I got their brisket & ribs. For the sides, I got their coleslaw & baked beans. I also got an extra fountain drink ($2.00).
Their ribs were delicious! It tasted really tender and had the right amount of flavor to it. The brisket was good as well, but I felt like it was a bit dry (but still good). Coleslaw was okay too, but the baked beans were really tasty with extra meat added to it as well. I thought the pricing was pretty decent, but I wish they would’ve added 1 or 2 more pieces of meat but it’s all good. Overall, La23 BBQ is a nice chill spot for some bbq. It’s right across the naval base, so you’ll see alot of military personnel eat here. But be warned… I got here exactly at 11 am when lunch opens, and there was already a line! That’s how you know the place is good!

We had the pleasure of trying the smoked beef brisket loaded breakfast taco at LA 23 BBQ, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and each bite was a delight. The staff were friendly and inviting, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This gem was recommended by several of our colleagues, and it certainly lived up to the hype. We will definitely be returning for more!

It’s good but I don’t think it’s worth what it costs. Last time I went I got the brisket and was less impressed. I would recommend everything but the pulled pork and brisket. It was just dryer than I felt it should have been.

Get here early before they run out. This place is amazing, bbq. Brisket is tender and juicy, and the mustard sauce just sets it off. Fast service and friendly staff only make it more desirable.

Disappointment in the bbq. Brisket was quite dry. Ribs had good flavor but they were not falling off the bone at all. Took a lot of work to eat them.

What a great place to eat. We are working at the refinery and we went for lunch. It was well worth the travel and the price was decent. The BBQ sauce was good. I bought the “top gun” meal it was pretty much a sampler player. My gosh was it good. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star is because the mac and cheese had a clump of cheese not melted in it but other than that this place was great. Easy access off the main road and the staff was great. The outside seating area would be awesome when it’s nice out. It was about 55 when were there but the wind made it a bit chill. This place was getting busy as we were sitting down. The staff brings your food out to you which was unexpected and nice. I didn’t look but if they had a dessert item I probably would of ordered something. I for sure will be visiting this place again when we come back next year.

This place is just awesome, if you’re not from here, you’ll unknowingly pass by one of the best local breakfast/lunch BBQ places nearby. The food is always cooked fantastically, the portions are awesome for the price you pay and it’s worth every dollar. They order for pickup which is awesome if you’re in a pinch and need to get on your way but still have great food. They’re also pretty fast compared to most restaurants and any fast food nearby, you nearly never wait more than 10 min for you food. Plus they’re a very friendly group, I’ve never gone there and a rude person, they’re very patient and will recommend things if you’re not 100% sure what you want and they answer the phone more than most places in the area, I’m not sure if it’s a Louisiana thing to not answer the phone but they do answer and if not, they call back which amazing. They clearly know what they’re doing. 10/10
