Excellent French restaurant. We arrived at 6pm on a Thursday knowing that it will be packed later and it was. Originally booked for Friday and glad we rescheduled. Staff very friendly. Had tempura frog leg and it was excellent! Also triggerfish which is not commonly found. Raspberry Mille-feuille was top notch, pastry was unbelievably light. Wife had pasta with shrimp was very good but sauce a bit heavy for her taste. Onion soup was solidly French. Had complimentary flavored rum after dinner and it was wonderful. Merci!

L’Astrolabe was an absolute highlight of our time in St. Maarten. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Every detail was handled with care, making the entire experience feel effortless and special.

The food was nothing short of impeccable. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, clearly prepared with skill and passion. It was the kind of meal you keep thinking about long after it’s over.

I am incredibly grateful for such a memorable dining experience, and without question, I will be returning the next time I’m back. I highly recommend L’Astrolabe to anyone visiting the French side of St. Maarten — it is truly a must-visit.

We went for the Lobster night on friday. For a starter I had the Lobster and Cognac bisque which was outstanding. The Lobster was superb. I took the warm chocolate sponge cake. The service was very friendly and attentive. The only major critisism was that a bunch of Americans arrived who didn‘t know how to behave

A beautiful restaurant and lovely ambiance! We always enjoy the Friday night Lobster party. They offer a complete menu for 66 euro or order individual items from the menu. Be sure not to miss a meal here on your vacation you won’t be disappointed.

Servings were a bit small but it’s a fine dining restaurant so it was all very pristine. Food was delicious and we did the 3 course meal option. There were many options for non-meat eaters/vegans…service was also on point with multiple persons attending to you at various intervals. The live entertainment on the Monday night was also a nice touch.

Our experience at Astrolabe was absolutely delightful. The service was impeccable from start to finish. The staff was attentive to every detail, especially when we requested a customized dish due to a food intolerance. Not only did they accommodate our request, but they also ensured that the meal was as delicious as any standard option on the menu.

The ambiance of the restaurant was charming and inviting. Although we had hoped to dine under the open sky, the rainy weather meant we dined on the terrace instead, which was still a lovely experience. The temperature was just right, making it a comfortable setting for enjoying our meal.

The cuisine is rooted in French tradition but incorporates local ingredients, giving it a unique and vibrant touch. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The main course sauces were particularly notable, reflecting the chef’s mastery of French culinary techniques.

The dessert, a reinterpretation of the classic profiterole, was nothing short of spectacular. Instead of a typical whipped cream filling, it featured a light yet indulgent variation that elevated the dish to new heights.

While the pricing was on the higher side, it was entirely justified by the quality of the ingredients, the meticulous preparation, and the overall experience.

In conclusion, Astrolabe is an excellent choice for those seeking a high-quality dining experience with attentive service and beautifully crafted dishes. Highly recommended!

This place is an amazing culinary experience with ambience and amazing service. In my 62 years, I’m not sure I have had a better experience. If you come to St. Maarten and don’t hit this place you are out of your mind and missing one, if not the best meals of your life!

We had an absolutely amazing evening at Restaurant L’ Astrolabe ’s Lobster Friday Night in Orient Bay! Chef Patrick Guillerm and the whole team created a truly unforgettable dining experience. The poolside seating was serene and beautiful, perfect for enjoying hand-crafted cocktails and superb live music. The lobster was perfectly juicy, paired with a mouthwatering Mushroom risotto.

We kicked off our meal with a rich Lobster Bisque and home-smoked Angus Beef, followed by the incredible Lobster and Surf & Turf. We then finished with delightful Profiteroles and Crepes Suzette.

Extra Tip: Save 10% by presenting your Magic of the Caribbean Card on the regular menu (not on specials and Formules). You don’t want to miss this gem!

Very nice restaurant with a nice atmosphere with seating indoors and outdoors around the pool. Service is a bit slow, but as they say it is on Island time. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Fun evening of dancing with live music. The lobster feast is very good.
