The Kyushu Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen at Kyuramen delivers a deep, satisfying heat layered over a rich, creamy broth that feels both comforting and bold. The pork is tender, the noodles have the perfect bite, and every topping—from the sweet corn to the soft‑boiled egg—adds balance to the spice. The Chili Garlic Edamame is a standout appetizer, coated in a savory, aromatic seasoning that makes each pod addictive without overwhelming the palate. Paired with the Aloe Grapefruit Tea in a large size, the meal becomes even more refreshing. The drink is bright, lightly sweet, and full of citrus notes that cut through the richness of the ramen beautifully. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and thoughtfully designed, making Kyuramen a place where both the food and the experience feel genuinely cared for.

Kyuramen’s interior creates an atmosphere that feels both inviting and thoughtfully curated. The wooden tables, clean lines, and organized place settings give the space a modern, minimalist feel, while the traditional Japanese elements add warmth and character. The wall of wooden wishing plaques brings a cultural touch that makes the restaurant feel personal and meaningful, almost like stepping into a small corner of Japan. Each table is neatly arranged with chopsticks, spoons, and branded napkins, showing attention to detail and a commitment to presentation. Even the condiment station and small décor pieces—like the engraved wooden box and labeled ceramic jars—add to the charm without feeling cluttered. The overall environment is calm, clean, and aesthetically pleasing, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal whether you’re dining alone or with company.

One of our favorite spots near home! The ramen is incredibly flavorful, and we always love starting with the appetizers, especially the skewers, popcorn chicken, and takoyaki. Those are our go-to favorites, but we try to order something new each time we visit. The service is always kind and friendly, which makes the experience even better. We really enjoy the booths since they feel nice and private. Prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. Highly recommend! ✨

Excellent ramen place with lots of options for everyone. Sat in the booth and had prompt service and the hostess was super friendly. Had the spicy ramen with pork (hot). It’s a decent American hot, not a crazy Asian hot. Popcorn chicken was also excellent, crispy and nice flavor similar to Taiwanese chicken. Worth the stop/drive.

I enjoyed myself. It was quiet and lovely great service. Friendly. They do take out their own tip which isn’t a big tip so I love that too. Most places that I have been, you don’t get the great kyuramen gives. It is beautiful inside. I had a great experience as if I was in one of my anime.

Kyuramen in Southaven Memphis is a gem for ramen lovers. We enjoyed the Katsoubushi Pork Ramen, Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen Combo A, and steamed pork bao bun—each flavorful and satisfying. The restaurant is comfortable, service outstanding, and the food truly delicious. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic ramen.

We have been coming back here trying out their ramen bowls one by one and they have never failed to impress me and the fam. Today was my niece’s first time trying the Curry Ramen and to my surprise she finished the entire thing. Other favorites are chicken popcorn and ikageso karaage! Always a treat to come here!

Solid experience every time I’ve gone. Feels like local slice of Japan or an anime. Ramen is amazing and price friendly. The chicken nuggets and takoyaki bites are my FAVORITE appetizers. Reminder that great food doesn’t have to outrageously priced. *Use chopsticks provided , adds to the eating experience.*

This is a long one, so TL:DR – Good staff, good appetizers, poor drinks, poor entree’s, and poor desserts. Will not be coming back.

This was a first time experience for me, but this will probably be my last time here as well. Upon initially walking in, the staff were very kind and welcoming. They seated my friends, and I in a timely manner, so you don’t have to worry about a long wait time. The layout was pretty good, so they get points for authenticity. Also, they have a pretty good selection of appetizers, just prepare your mind for “trying something new.” I ordered the fried dumplings, definitely the winner. My friends orders something with lobster, and the other had octopus. We all tried some of everything, and we each approved of them all.

Unfortunately, that’s about where the good things end for them.

While the appetizers were good, the rest of their food was not up to the same standard. Two of us ordered the Ying Yang bowl, which looked pretty good on the menu, but for it being $20 dollar, it was a major let down. Everything in the bowl had no real seasoning, or flavor. The pork that was in it was completely soggy, and I even found lumps of raw fat in mine. The Tempura shrimp was no better, bland clumps of defrosted slop. Even the boiled eggs were disappointing. My other friend disliked hers so much that she ordered something else entirely.

I also cannot recommend their tea selection, especially the Passion Fruit tea that my friend had. We all took a sip of it, and it was just foul. I spat it back out in just seconds of the intake. She ordered a simple coke just to get something decent to wash it out with. What makes it worse, is that the our initial waiter said that it was a “popular option.” My friend was lied to. Also, the drinks don’t get refills there. Choose wisely, and make it count.

Finally the desserts. Was it their worst? No, but it certainly wasn’t their best either. My lady friend and I both got their Matcha Terimasu, and my buddy got their “Red-bean Pudding.” Initially, the first layer tasted like stale powdered sugar(if that’s even a thing.) However, it redeemed itself, when I got to the actual pastry, and ice cream sections underneath. As for the pudding, my buddy didn’t even want to finish it.

Would I go back? Definitely not, and I don’t recommend going here. I really wanted to leave a tip, but they simply did not earn it. Skip this place if you can.

I’m a fan of Kyuramen, and my local go-to is the Memphis branch. When I visited the location in MS near Tanger Outlets, I was happy to find that the food quality and taste were consistent with what I’m used to. The only notable difference was a slightly more limited selection of options for swapping out noodles or sauces with chicken. Still, a great
experience!

Bonus points for the staff! Amazing
