My second time here is fabulous. We love it. The sushi rolls are fresh. The fried chicken breast which I didn’t take the picture was so juicy and delicious. It was gone in a second before I thought to take a picture. The Japanese curry is the best we have had so far in Tampa Bay. The takoyaki is freshly made and very delicious. You won’t go wrong with any item on the menu.

A small spot with big flavor! As a party of 4, we were still able to get a table after waiting only 10 minutes on a Friday night, which was very convenient since they don’t take reservations. People in our group got sushi and loved it! The ramen and Japanese curry were delicious. The ramen was the perfect level of spice.

Love the new location! They are making it work, and I like the atmosphere even better. It’s more open, but feels more personal too. Food is still the best, and the people know what they are doing. Currently, there’s no liquor license at this new place, but hot sake isn’t necessary for me to enjoy great sushi. I love their ramen here too! Enjoy! Itadekimasu!

Great local Seminole Heights sushi and Ramen restaurant. I had the Chirashi Bowl lunch special with miso soup and it was delicious!
Service was friendly and quick.
The fish (and egg) was great but I was really impressed with the rice. Portion was very good. I thought I was going to order more but I was completely full after the Chirashi!
The atmosphere was comfortable, clean, efficient, and authenticly Japanese.
I live close to Ichiban, and I will return and frequent this restaurant. I will have a Ramen next time.
I came back next day to have the Signature Pork Ramen and I had a la carte nigiri yellowtail hamachi sushi. Ramen was fantastic, especially on this near record cold day in Tampa. The two pieces of yellowtail were big in size and delicious.
I highly recommend this restaurant.

Beyond worth the trip from St. Pete!
I’ve been wanting to try Ichiban for a while and I’m so glad we finally did. We showed up around 6:30 on a Saturday and were seated immediately, which was awesome. The restaurant is small and intimate, making it perfect for a date night.
We wanted to try a little of everything, so we split the gyoza and crab Rangoon to start. Both were seriously the best I’ve ever had. We also shared a few sushi rolls and the beef ramen. The broth was out of this world and the sushi was incredibly fresh. Great portions and prices. This is officially my new favorite sushi spot, I just wish it were closer!
Caroline did such an amazing job with this place. The only minor downside is it can get a little smoky inside since the space is small and close to the kitchen. My eyes were burning a bit at one point, so better ventilation would make it perfect. That said, the food and service were so fantastic that it’s a tiny issue and definitely not something that would stop me from coming back. Caroline also surprised us with a little dessert to take with us, I think it’s called taiyaki. Very sweet touch! We will be back again and again!

Gem in Seminole heights ! Great service from Caroline ! The food was excellent . We especially loved Raman and all the sushi was fresh and delicious . We especially loved the hamachi crudo . The vibe inside and out it really nice as well you can come with friends or come on a date . Parking in the back is perfect .

This is a Tampa staple that recently moved into Seminole Heights into the former Whatever Pops location. We went for a bit of an early dinner (6:30 ish) and were able to be seated immediately which I was super surprised by because it’s such a tiny spot. I’m glad we got there when we did because maybe 30 minutes later, there was a line to wait.
I cannot say enough great things about this place!! The service was fast and efficient. The sushi came out super fast and super fresh! The rolls were so inventive, it was SO difficult to choose what to order but we ended up ordering the Tampa, Mexican, Asparagus Tempura, and Yellowtail Jalapeno rolls. My wife likes her sushi more simple and pure while I like it wild lolol. We both really enjoyed our respective rolls. I could go on and on about the flavor of the Asparagus Tempura and the Yellowtail Jalapeno. It took everything in me not to just stuff myself full to say I ate it all because it deserved to be eaten!
We also ordered the seaweed salad which was perfect as well. They do not serve alcohol but we couldn’t care less. Didn’t miss it one bit.
They also have ramen and Donburi on the menu that I cannot wait to try! Fingers crossed we get back in here before it’s impossible to get in.

My favorite sushi restaurant in all of Tampa!! I’ve been coming here since 2017 when the location was at Fowler Ave and Bruce B Downs. I’m so happy they’re still around and serving the best sushi in all of Tampa! 10/10 Highly recommend!!

You need to try this restaurant! I had dinner with my family and we all had nothing but good things to say. The service was excellent and food was delicious. We had a little bit of everything. The crab rangoons had a generous portion of cream cheese filling. The dumplings were crispy and savory. The beef ramen was delicious and definitely a shareable size. The sushi and sashimi were fresh and full of flavor. The building is small but the ambience is spot on. Definitely a great spot for date night. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

This was our last day in Tampa before we returned home and I am so glad we stopped here. The hole in the wall fell adds to the intimacy of this restaurant and it shows with the great work they do.
The food, staff, customer service, and fast pace were exactly what we needed to end our trip.
