This place is incredible! Went for lunch and they have great deals. The Bento boxes are a must try. The combos come with either a miso soup or salad. The shrimp tempura sushi is a must try! Great service as well! Parking is easy. Looking forward to visiting more ofren!

Kyoto is our go-to sushi place! We eat there often but tonight we ordered through Uber. There was an error with the delivery but Kyoto went above and beyond to make up for it. The team was incredibly nice, helpful, and truly put us as the customer first. I highly recommend dining them!

TLDR; best sushi I’ve had in my life, I’ve lived all over the world and spent many years in Okinawa, Japan.

I am writing to you directly from this restaurant. I glad given up on sushi for years after moving back to the United States from Japan. Recently I’ve been searching for authentic and quality Japanese food. It is a comfort food to me. It is what I knew when I was pregnant and the first years of my daughter’s life, who is also Asian with a very judgmental, family on American-Asian food. I am also a formally trained cook, educated by multiple amazing mentor chefs trained under a Top Chef, including a sushi chef. I was service industry for 12 years. I’m picky.

From the moment we walked into the restaurant, they treated my daughter and I like they had known us for years. They were patient. Informative. Kind. Prompt. Clean. They pre-bussed! The whole staff did not just my server. They smiled to each other.

Not only was the service outstanding, the atmosphere clean (although some lower lighting might enhance the vibes as the food is something you’d expect at an very upscale restaurant), and the menu outstanding…but the food…oh my god. The food was better than Okinawa and Tokyo (not gonna question it). I’ve lived all over the United States and the world. If you are looking for GOOD Japanese food, drive out to Foxbank and prepare to spend a couple hours here — not because they’re slow, but because you’re going to want to keep ordering more.

What put me into tears was mentioning how much I miss my favorite Nigiri from Hamazushi in Okinawa. They replicated it for me. Yellowtail topped with paper thin lemon and shreds of green and white onion. Extra wasabi. Sapporo. $8. I am not only watery-eyed, but writing a review. They made the fattest nigiri I’ve ever had too. Not a bit of freezer burn or that weird frozen watery taste.

If you’re looking for truly OUTSTANDING sushi and Japanese cuisine, make a reeservation and get out here.

Ps, ask for Nell. I couldn’t be more grateful. Tonight was special.

Thanks for the read. Seriously don’t even bother going anywhere else.

Our dinner time was 6:30 pm on a Thursday and there was plenty of seating available. We had made reservations and were there early so they seated us right away. The atmosphere was nice and clean. Our waitress was very personable, informative and made good suggestions. She was very attentive to our needs. We had several appetizers. The Harumaki Spring Rolls were tasty. The Yakitori Bacon Scallops were delicious, and I would highly recommend. The Rock Shrimp were big, and the sauce was very good, but they weren’t crispy, which is what I expected. The ginger dressing was delicious and had to be homemade. We had the Hibachi Chicken with rice and vegetables and the Hibachi Steak with rice and vegetables. Both dinners were delicious. Good Food and Service. Would recommend for you to try. Cost was reasonable for quality of food. Will return.

An all around amazing experience!!! The restaurant has a fine dining feel, the space is beautiful. The staff is incredible. Very very nice woman welcoming us today. The food options are amazing, it was hard to choose but I’m so thankful they have an abundance of veggie friendly items. Our server was very knowledgeable and was so patient with me while I asked about vegetarian options. She was very nice. I had their lunch special that came with everything I wanted and more. A salad with the ginger dressing, avocado sushi, rice, tofu and veggies, and spring roll. I was stuffed! Very delicious. Best food I’ve had in a long time! They also have a bar and a lot of drink options. We even got dessert! Can’t wait to return soon ❤️ thank you!

Our server was so nice and friendly to start off. We got 2 sushi rolls, an appetizer and udon stir fry which was plenty of food. I love shumai, they tasted similar to the ones I’ve had elsewhere so I do not think they’re house-made but still tasted really good. The two sushi rolls also were good quality, crunchy with good texture. The udon was a bit underwhelming for me flavor wise. Could’ve used more sauce or salt perhaps but the chewiness was pleasant. You don’t get very much beef to noodle ratio but it was still decent. The decor in there is very nice and the bathrooms were clean!

The food was great! By the way it tasted, it was made fresh to order. The seasoning was just that southern style & taste. The chicken was tender, the shrimp was well done & clean (tasty), & the mushrooms were moist. All of that made the food 10 star & highly recommended. I pray they maintain the “A” grade food.

I’ve been a big sushi guy for many years. Had it at some of the best places across the US. This place is my absolute favorite in the area. When I’m in Summerville, I go here. Best service, sushi, and for a good price. Love Kyoto!
