When my order arrived, I was taken aback by the sushi’s texture; it was far from the delicate, fresh consistency I anticipated from a sushi restaurant. Instead of the light, silky feel I’m used to, it had a gummy, off-putting quality that made it hard to enjoy.
I decided to pair my meal with a beer, but when the server handed me the glass, I noticed a strong, rancid smell emanating from it that made me hesitant to take a sip. It was truly off-putting and did not inspire confidence in the cleanliness of their glassware.
To top it off, the scallop roll was visually unappealing, with an odd presentation that made it seem less like a carefully crafted dish and more like an afterthought. The glistening scallops that I hoped would be mouth-watering appeared dull and lifeless.
Overall, I simply couldn’t bring myself to finish my meal, and I left the restaurant feeling dissatisfied and quite willing to chalk this experience up as a lesson learned. I certainly don’t intend to return; eating here felt like a regrettable error in judgment.
The food is fantastic. If it wasn’t for pricing I would be there always. They don’t have any happy hour specials. Every roll outside the basic California type rolls are going to be a little bit of money. But I’d spend it on a good night out.
Presentation is perfect. The flavors and mix of ingredients works very well. To the French Kiss if it’s still there.
The hostess was very attentive and the sushi chefs highly skilled. My only regret was not asking the sushi chef for his recommendation as I’m certain it would have been amazing.
I’m looking forward to coming back soon.
Also, I strongly recommend the M.P.R. roll of you are a fan of spicy food. It was spicy and a must for those who are in for a nice challenge.
