Tried takeout from Kyoto and was completely disappointed. I ordered a crunchy salmon roll, of which I received what looked like a fried dough ball, and when I bit into it, it was just deep-fried rice with almost nothing inside—bland and greasy. Called to express my dissatisfaction, and they refused a refund, only offering credit if I drove back. The woman on the phone was rude and argumentative. Terrible service, won’t be back. Do not recommend.

The BEST. I have to admit years ago something happened here, were I said I’d never be back. Well you know that saying “never say never”. About a year and a half ago, I went back and now I order from there often. The portions are filling and the taste, yummy. The service is wonderful, always smiling even during their busiest times.

Our waitress was not attentive. When we got our bill, there was an 18% tip add automatically, and there were only four people in our party. The couple that was with my husband and I gave her a $20.00 tip in cash before he realized that the tip was automatically added. The waitress heard me telling him, and she said, “we all share the tips.” Duh!

I eat here so much the staff knows what I am going to order before I can say it. The food never disappoints and Kyoto has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in Lynchburg. It’s hard to make great tasting food consistently, but they have figured it out.
