Reviews
Since the restaurant is quite small, I would recommend making a reservation in advance through Google to secure your seat. We visited on a weekday and had pre-booked our table, and even then, the place was almost full.
The food preparation was impressively quick, and the ambiance was lively and pleasant.
Overall, I had a great experience and truly enjoyed my visit. If you appreciate authentic Japanese food, this is definitely a restaurant worth trying.
The food is amazing.
They first welcome with you a warm traditional greeting by all the staff of the restaurant.
The atmosphere is very Japanese and I love that about the place.
The food arrived quickly after placing the order. Since it’s a half open kitchen we can see the food being prepared right in front of us.
The following are my go to items / recommendations
1. Kuuraku Ramen – Pork
2. Teppan Gyoza – Non veg
3. Tompei Yaki
I would say it is expensive but expected out of a place located in bridage road.
Recently visited Kuuraku and had a fantastic experience. The hospitality was excellent warm, attentive, and very welcoming, which instantly set the tone for a great meal.
We tried several dishes and every single one was impressive. The Karaage Set was perfectly crispy and flavourful, while the Chicken Nanban Set was rich, comforting, and well-balanced. The Ramen and Gyoza Set was a great combination, with the ramen being deeply satisfying and the gyoza cooked just right. The Kuuraku Ramen Chicken stood out with its hearty broth and tender chicken, and the Dashimaki Tamago was soft, delicate, and beautifully seasoned.
Overall, Kuuraku delivers authentic flavours, high-quality food, and exceptional hospitality. A must-visit for anyone who loves Japanese cuisine. Highly recommended, and definitely looking forward to visiting again! ⭐️
The décor and music create a traditional vibe, and the staff are polite and welcoming. Their sushi, ramen, and yakitori are among the highlights—fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. The chicken skewers and ramen broth stand out for their taste. However, some dishes feel slightly overpriced compared to portion sizes, and during busy hours, service can get a bit slow. The seating area is cosy but somewhat cramped, especially on weekends. While the overall dining experience is pleasant, the menu could include a few more vegetarian options to appeal to a wider audience. Despite these small drawbacks, Kuuraku is a place in Bangalore to enjoy Japanese flavours.
Happy eating
This time, knowing how difficult it is to get a seat, I made a prior reservation and reached the restaurant 5 minutes before my booking time. Despite that, we were made to wait for almost 30 minutes, and eventually were given a very uncomfortable table. We had to repeatedly explain that we had a booking and arrived on time, but there was zero courtesy or acknowledgment from the staff.
Coming to the food—sadly, this is where the experience went downhill. The only decent dish was the Spicy Salmon Roll, which was good. Everything else was a major letdown. Even the starters disappointed us. We ordered two chicken starters—Momo Stamina and Teriyaki Mayo—and both were below average.
Thinking it might just be a one-off, I reordered something I loved the first time: Yakitori Don. Unfortunately, even that tasted bad this time. The mango beer, which I was curious about, tasted quite strange and not enjoyable at all.
To end the meal, we ordered their bestseller dessert—Annin Tofu (Mango Mousse)—and it was honestly pathetic.
Overall, the second visit completely ruined the great impression I had from my first experience. It left a bitter taste—quite literally—and made me question how inconsistent the quality and service can be. Sadly, this visit made me forget how much I once loved this place.
Coming to the food we ordered prawn tempura maki, garlic mayo yaki, ninnikuma, yakitori don, kuuraku signature ramen and teppan gyoza. Personally loved every dish we ordered but only the ramen felt a little weaker in terms of umami compared to the others, but nonetheless it was a really fun dining experience. would definitely visit again!
The ambience is cozy and warm, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal. The staff were polite, attentive, and helpful throughout, which definitely added to the experience.
A good place to visit if you’re in the mood for a calm dining atmosphere and a few standout Japanese dishes.
