This was our first time here, it was great! The current $3.60 a plate can add up fast so be very picky for what you want. Every plate we had was freshly made and tasted awsome. The revolving bar can get picked through quick the alternate option to order and it comes directly to your table is a big plus. The seared steak was overall our favorite, american wagu was ok. The robots that bring drinks are interesting. The dessert options are also awsome. The wait staff are friendly and were very helpful from ordering refills and a spill. We did a walk-in and it got so busy they were waiting out the door, but cleared up quick. Reservations may be best for a larger group. This was an awsome experience to try once in your life. We did go through 16+ plates so we got a small souvenir. This will be one place we will visit again, garenteed.

If your looking for a different sushi experience than the usual sit-down restaurant you should definitely check out Kura Sushi.

The staff were really friendly, if you haven’t done Sushi served on a conveyer belt before that’s okay, they can explain and there are also instructions on the screen at the table and you can order via your phone after scanning a QR Code.

The sushi itself is very good. The flavors are balanced nicely and the quality of the nigiri is good. They also have some unique offerings I haven’t had before like conch – which I never tried before. It was good.

The price I would say isn’t cheap (why would you want cheap sushi anyway) and its not expensive. It’s mid-range which is nice.

It was fun and new experience for me and my friend. Definitely recommend trying it.

Fun dining experience. Most interactions are automated, either by ordering on a touchscreen terminal or pulling items from the titular revolving bar. In fact, I only saw servers when they were offering refills or cleaning plates from our table. There was an option to order refills via the terminal, but they offered before we ever needed to do that.

The menu is robust and the ingredients are fresh. The prizes from the plate-eating machine are themed in a limited-time rotation (February 2026 is Hello Kitty), and though this was an enjoyable quirk, the prizes themselves were nothing special.

Special orders are delivered via an express belt above the standard belt, and drinks are served via a roaming robot that loudly broadcasts a repeating Sims-like musak track as it travels, which may lead to Pavlovian conditioning given enough exposure. We were sat directly next to its home bay-thing, so this song was essentially the soundtrack to our dining experience. I am not complaining. I loved it.

If you’re starving, Kura might be a little pricy, but it’s worth it for the experience.

Lastly, while I commend the effort and admire the unconventional approach, I do not recommend the Hello Kitty avocado dream donut sushi.

This was my 1st time at this restaurant and I lost my appetite as soon as I sat down at the table so this review is soley based on the atmosphere. The supposedly CLEAN table we were sat at looked like it hasn’t been cleaned properly since this place opened. The revolving sushi bar had food crumbs in the corner of it that looked like they have been there for awhile. The revolving sushi bar, table, chairs, napkin holder and ginger container all had some sort of splatter all over them. The floor was filthy and the floor trim was covered in drywall powder. We came to celebrate my son’s b day and instead got a not so fond memory of this place. This was such a disappointment especially for this restaurant being on the plaza. They definitely need to do better with their cleanliness.

Such a fun dining experience! So many delicious options on the revolving bar, and there are some larger items (ramen, tempura, etc.) you can order from your table as well. We made a reservation and got seated right away.

Update: 2/8/26 – Food quality seems less than in the past. Maybe new chefs? I don’t know. Different flavor than the past. I’m not feeling it anymore. Only spent $20. That says a lot when I was spending $40 on average. Wasn’t the same. A lot of the items that were on the revolving conveyor were dry looking and seemed as if they had been sitting for a while longer than they should have. Just not the same luster and more than likely will not be back.

Update: 6/29/25 – It’s best to eat with 2 people. Even with a reservation for 1, the booth to countertop ratio is not favoring solo dining…Bring a friend??! ‍♂️ Just a take away from single life dining

Update: 6.18.25 – international sushi day with great specials and full stomach! ❤️

Man this is an awesome experience for Kansas City and something to this caliber can only make the city better. With that being said, this was an awesome experience that I will continue to visit on a regular basis. A wide variety and little robots that roll around serving drinks. Love it!

This place is a treat! Great location on the plaza! Even when it’s packed the wait doesn’t feel too long. A crazy variety of options with convenient ordering features of something is popular or you’re in a hurry. All the food is delicious! The anime tie-ins means there is something for the whole family when we stop by.

I’ve always wanted to try a sushi train restaurant, this one is absolutely amazing, they had a Kirby collab going when I went, there were Kirby themed rolls and prizes if you eat 15 plates or more. They drinks are delivered by a robot!! Also the Taiyaki ice cream dessert is epic!

Select the sushi you want as it passes along by. Don’t see what you want? You can order it from the tabletop kiosk and have your food delivered. Devour 15 plates and you get a powerful read.

I am in love with this place and kind of addicted to the keychains you get every 15 plates or 25 plates, I like that if I really wanted to just get a couple rolls for cheap I could or I can get a wide variety for a good price. This place really has helped diversify my palette and I’m always excited for what new sushi I’ll try next. All of it is banger, I will say I personally don’t like the tamago, but that’s just me not liking the sponge texture.
