This was our first visit to Kura and our first time at a revolving sushi bar ever. It was such a fun and delicious experience! There was something for everyone and ordering was a breeze. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of Nigiri options. The drink robot was really fun – the kids especially loved seeing it come by.

I really want to give this Kura a high rating, because… it’s Kura! Kura is an actual Japanese chain of conveyor sushi restaurants that is worldwide. The quality and flavor is the same as the locations I have visited in Japan.
In Japan, Kura is very touristy now and known for being the lower quality of all of the larger conveyor sushi restaurants, in comparison to Sushiro and the growing Hama Sushi. However, we only have Kura in the area, so I have to celebrate even having the option in Buford, GA.
The main issue here is not the locations fault, the supply chain has been suffering, so many menu items are missing or sold out. Even when they have special promotions, some of those items that customers drive from miles away are missing. Also, depending on the time of day and who is working, food quality can be hit or miss. Not consistent.
That is why I try to visit during hours when I think there would be a manager on duty, like weekends for lunch.
What makes Kura special?
1. Vibe – the vibe, sounds, and experience is exactly the same as Japan. Except the prices are about 5x higher because we are in the US.
2. You can get half rolls, to try more and they are currently about $3.70/plate. Compared to a local restaurant that would charge about $14/roll = $7 half plate.
3. Gyudon and Beef udon – taste and flavor are same quality and delicious as Japan.
4. Seasonal promotions – This is something that Japan does well and the US does not, which is exciting promotions based on seasonal cusines with fresh ingredients in season. Not only is it great for marketing, but it is exciting to see what’s new.
There are some items here that are just not worth the money, like $4 cup of soda, or overpriced shrimp tempura.

Enjoyed going with small group. Some people overlook the ramen and other options on the menu so make sure to look into those when eating here.

Overall experience was great. The ambiance was pleasant, creating a comfortable dining atmosphere. The restroom is pretty clean and has no unpleasant odors. I always take a look at the restroom to see if a restaurant is clean or not.
Most of the sushi and other dishes were good, offering a decent variety and fresh flavors. The overall quality was satisfying. The staff was friendly, and always quick to clear plates and refill drinks.

The sushi is average to below average. For 2 adults and 1 child our bill was $80!!!!! We could have gone somewhere much better for that price… mind you that was with only 1 drink! Most of the sushi was basic and nothing wowed me… won’t be going back

This place is great!! Everything is well priced and it is a good place to go to when you are craving sushi. The desserts and atmosphere are nice although it is a bit quiet. The place is clean and well managed the waiters are polite as well. I definitely recommend coming to try this place! Plus in the times I’ve gone it’s never too full which is even better.

Something about the super cramped space, the dirty dishes, the dirty tables, and reliance on the automation really takes away from the experience. Thankfully the food seems to have gotten better since the last time I visited one, but the prices are eye watering 3.60 per plate. With my group average plates was about 8 plates a person. You can get just as tasty food, faster, more conveniently and without feeling like a sardine. When I was sat, the table was full of crumbs, and the 4 soy sauce dishes were dirty, one having leftover green onions on it. Not okay. The conveyor system wasn’t even populated for very long periods of time (10-15m), telling me the kitchen was understaffed and severely behind. The staff was courteous when you summoned them via the interface. Hilariously one of the more expensive items was an order of French fries that somebody ordered out of curiosity. Surprisingly tasty fries all things considered. Maybe visit once to say you did, and then go find a real sushi joint that takes pride in all they do.

Kura Sushi used to be one of my go-to spots for a quick bite of quality sushi, but my recent visit left me really disappointed. After about a month away, I stopped in for lunch and was shocked by how much the quality had declined.
The bluefin toro, which is usually a beautiful light pink with visible fat marbling, came out lukewarm, pale, and speckled — it looked and smelled nothing like what it should. Even worse, the hot side dish I ordered was served cold, as if it hadn’t been properly cooked or heated at all.
I’m not sure what’s changed, but the overall quality — especially the fish — has noticeably gone downhill. It used to be a reliable and satisfying spot, but this visit was a 3/10 experience for me. Not sure if I’ll be coming back after this.

The food is delicious and the concept is really neat. However, where you sit is sooo important. If you are towards the beginning of the belt, your experience is great. But if you are towards the end, you can pretty much forget about getting your food through the belt. However, placing special orders takes time as well. I would love to give this place a higher rating, but the wait for the food is what brings it down.

First to visit but family has been numerous times. Can get expensive at $3.50 per plate but the sushi is fresh and delicious. Wait staff is always available to assist. One pleasant surprise was how good the beef fried rice was. It as possibly the best I have ever had. Will go back to just have the rice, it was amazing.
