I’m happy to see a new revolving sushi spot open in the area. While I didn’t have very high expectations, I was still a bit disappointed with the taste overall. The wagyu was quite tough and difficult to chew. The uni lacked the sweetness I was expecting, and the scallop was very salty with a strong scallion flavor (and I don’t usually mind scallions).
Overall, it’s a convenient option if you’re specifically craving revolving sushi, but I wouldn’t go in with high expectations for quality.

This might be the coolest place to eat in this whole entire area!!!! Yes, you have to like sushi to go here and really enjoy it, but if you just want the experience you could also order ramen or noodles…or dessert lol
Anyway, I was greeted immediately when I walked in the door and seated right away. We went at 4:00 p.m. which seemed like a good time to get there because by the time we left at 5:30 the place was absolutely packed.
Right next to your seat is the conveyor belt that runs directly in and out of the kitchen and is restocked regularly with different pieces of sushi, vegetables, and dessert. Dessert. The waitress who sat us explained how it works. You order your drinks from the screen then you pay by the plate. So when something passes by that you want to try, you grab it off the conveyor belt, you eat it and then deposit the plate into the little slot where you’re charged $4something for whatever was on that plate….
We placed our drink orders which were then brought to us by a little robot!! (Along with some wasabi…there were little containers of Ginger and soy sauce already at the table.) Not sure the procedure for getting drinks from a robot but I said thank you and he rolled away turned around when he got to the wall and winked at me absolutely delightful.

We started grabbing dishes right away since once you hit 15 plates you get a prize, so that was the goal. I was absolutely stuffed and tapped out at plate number 14 or 15, but we got the prize – most expensive eyeglass cleaner ever lol but honestly, so much fun!!!

The table’s all sat two or four comfortably and there’s also at least one row of single seats so you can go by yourself and check this place out, no worries. Since the conveyor belt brings the food around, you were able to look directly at the table across from you the entire time. Didn’t bother me at all, but I can see how that could be weird for some people.

You also have the option to order directly from the screen at your table. So if there’s something that’s never there when it comes around or if you just want a special roll, ramen, noodles or whatever, you can order it directly from the screen and it comes out on a different conveyor belt and stops right at your table. We obviously had to try this, and it totally made us feel like VIPs.
We tried the hot dog because why wouldn’t you try a hot dog in a sushi place lol lol not bad, but I’m not sure I’d get it again. Even though we were completely full, we had to get the mochi, which was a perfect ending to the meal.
Because of the cool conveyor belt and paying by the plate, we were able to try wagyu beef, eel, salmon, tuna, edamame, dragon rolls…. Such a cool and incredible variety of things. Most plates had two pieces but there were a few that had one or three as well. Perfect size for sharing and sampling.
There was not a bad thing that we tried. Everything was fresh and awesome.
There are plenty of servers walking around and hostesses at the front, so if you have questions there are actual people there to help you, but it’s really pretty easy to figure out.
Oh, I almost forgot, the bathrooms have a bidet and heated seats!?!? I spent some time in the bathroom playing with that, no regrets. LOL

Super cool chain of restaurants. If there’s one near you check it out and if there’s not, it’s totally worth a drive for a really fun date night or girls night out!
The website said the plates were $2something so when we got there and they were $4something that was way more than I thought I was going to be spending that night. I think the pricing could probably come down a bit, but as a one-off night out it was still well worth it. (Total bill was $70)

A decent sushi option for the area, but there are some operational issues and value concerns that keep it from being rated higher. The service was friendly overall, but the logistics and pricing need work.

At over 4 dollars per plate, the pricing feels a bit steep for the quality. Since it is a flat rate, paying the same for Tamago as you would for Tuna feels unbalanced, and the fish slices were on the smaller side. Compared to nearby options like H Mart or Mitsuwa in Edgewater, the value proposition isn’t quite there yet.

A few points for management to look into:

1. We had a 7:30 PM reservation on a Wednesday. The restaurant was not full, yet we were told it would be a 10-to-15-minute wait. It was confusing to see empty tables while waiting for a confirmed reservation.
2. We asked to sit at the handicap-accessible table but were told we couldn’t because the conveyor belt doesn’t actually work for that spot. This is a significant oversight as the revolving experience should be available to everyone. Having a designated table that is effectively unusable for the main attraction needs to be addressed.
3. We were not told until we asked, but apparently you have to order a drink just to get wasabi. It would be much better to have this explained upfront.
4. The ordering screens are mounted very high, which makes it uncomfortable to navigate the menu throughout the meal.

The staff is nice, but the layout and some of the policies make the experience less seamless than it should be for the price. With a few adjustments to the seating flow and accessibility, this could be a stronger spot.

Kura Princeton had its grand opening today at noon, and I happened to be the first person in line. My wife and I went in right at 12 p.m. for lunch. The staff greeted us warmly in Japanese, and we could tell they had hired a large and diverse team. Everyone was kind and did their best to welcome guests on their very first day. As expected with an opening, there were a few hiccups. The menu selection felt a bit limited, and some of the items we ordered took quite a while to arrive. Their touchscreen ordering system also seemed to be having issues, so I assume they are still testing and fine-tuning everything. That said, the food itself was enjoyable, the atmosphere was pleasant, and it is exciting to have a place like this in our area. Despite the first-day bumps, we still had a good experience overall, and I’m looking forward to returning once they settle into their rhythm.

Kura’s atmosphere is so neat and tidy. The restaurant offers fun decor and sounds added when items are ordered and from robots. Ola answered a ton of my questions over the phone and in person, he is the nicest human I have had an encounter with. He has the best personality and is very down to earth. He shows how much he loves working at Kura!!! Their hello kitty collab is so fun 🙂 and I think it is so great that you have the option to buy the prizes individually

I had such a blast at this revolving sushi spot! It was my first time, and I loved how easy it was to pick up fresh food straight from the little rotating belt. Everything looked so good and was super convenient to grab.

The drinks were amazing too — I had the peach wine (21+), and it was sooo good! I also tried the Hello Kitty My Melody dessert, and it was adorable and delicious.

The staff was very patient and friendly with us, especially since it was my first time there. They made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be going again! ✨

There was lots of parking knit inside was busy. I entered my number and we sat in the small waiting area and within 10mins we were seated.

Great concept, service was fast and when you ordered your plate of choice, it came out quickly. Great options and because we could see what was being served, we ended up buying and enjoying items we might not otherwise try.
We ended up getting appetizers and dessert too.
Would come back.

We went for a late lunch, so there wasnt a crazy crowd. With fewer people in house, we were able to have pieces made for us fresh and it was still served quickly. Also enjoyed the hot sake.

We wanted to try this new restaraunt that is now a sushi bar that replaced hooters. We were quite surprised of how the setting was. We werent sure what to order so we tried a few items. Each order is about $4. You can order thru the screen and pick up something on the revolving belt. There is a robot that brings food and drinks.
