We had a lovely feast here at KUMO. We ordered the bento box which has great variety, the chirashi don’s fish was incredibly fresh, It was a comforting and satisfying dish and the chicken katsu was perfectly crispy and complemented by a generous serving of sauce. To top it off! the spicy beef ramen broth was incredibly rich and creamy. It’s definitely a dish best shared with friends or family. I highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic and delicious Japanese cuisine!

A lovely authentic Japanese restaurant on Fareham high street. We had chicken dumplings and Takoyaki (deep fried octopus and cheese in a fried crumb coating, comparable to arancini) both were full of flavour! Our mains were Oyako Donburi and Prawn Katsu Curry, presented so well and cooked to perfection. The restaurant itself was stylish, clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back, highly recommend!

When we arrived at 6.30pm the restaurant was quite chilly and we asked for the radiator next to us to be switched on which they did
My husbands favourite is tuna sashimi which he chose as his starter, but he sent this back because it was poor quality and felt it was like a cheap bit of tuna steak and not the quality he had had the last few times we visited about a year ago. And as a result sent it back for another starter.
His main was seafood ramen whilst the broth was tasty there were too many noodles and not many other ingredients and we were surprised to see two whole crab sticks floating in the sauce , I was disappointed to see this when there are so many other seafood options available.
His birthday was not mentioned until after we had paid the bill.
Disappointing and when eating out is quite a luxury these days, it’s hard paying for a meal that we didn’t enjoy

I went a week ago and it was lovely ! I really enjoyed it ! The octopus was delicious.This is a must go place for anyone 🙂

We’ve been here a couple of times now and the food is always amazing! It’s always so flavorful and the portions are just right too. We usually end up here for lunch and I’m still surprised that these tables aren’t filled, with the staff being really friendly and polite to boot. If you haven’t eaten here you’re missing out!
If you’ve not had Japanese food yet, this is the place to go to get your teeth into the more well known as well as delicious side of the cuisine. Highly recommend

By far one of the best Japanese restaurants we have been to. The food was delicious and so very fresh, the atmosphere was brilliant and the staff that looked after us during the visit were fantastic and very attentive.
As soon as we came to the table the staff asked if we had any dietary requirements which is something you don’t really get anymore with other restaurants, so that was a nice little thing to have for people that need it.
We ordered quite a lot and were pleasantly surprised with the speed the food came out. I would say it was actually faster than fast food places, but with each dish, every care and attention was made to make sure it looked perfect.
We will definitely be going back again in the future.
The price for all the food we got was excellent too and definitely reasonable.

I’m so glad we chose to eat here – everything we had was absolutely delicious! There’s a great range of food on the menu, it was hard to choose! We ordered the takoyaki which was amazing, the sushi sharing platter B which was also great and a lovely amount to share for two people and then finished with the passion fruit and mango mochi and red bean dorayaki. The service was lovely and the restaurant had a great atmosphere. I haven’t had good sushi around Fareham before so this restaurant is lovely to have here – will definitely be back!
