This was my first visit to Kukuruku and I was excited to try their chicken. Looking at the restaurant and where it’s located you’d think it would be delicious…wrong!! First let me start off by saying the good things…there was a young man at the cash register and you could tell he was a teen and he was new. I thought it was really cute how sweet he was and when he didn’t know an answer to a customer question he’d ask his mom. I can appreciate that…also another thing that was good was the decor of the restaurant it was nice and clean as well. Now let’s talk about how it took almost thirty minutes for me to get my food. The cashier told me 15-20 minutes but it was more like 30 minutes. There was only one young lady cooking orders. Another thing I’d ordered 3 piece DARK meat and a kids meal with half spaghetti and an added piece of chicken. I was so late for work by now that I didn’t check my order, well that was a big mistake on my end. I got to work and the 3 piece DID NOT have all dark meat…there was a breast, a wing, and drumstick. The spaghetti looked different and my daughter did not eat all it (that’s unheard of it’s her favorite dish) and she didn’t eat all her chicken. The taste of the chicken is different, I can’t say it’s good but I can’t say it’s the worse thing I’ve tasted either. I couldn’t believe I was late for work for this place. I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

Decent chicken joint. Chicken has a unique flavor and the food portions are surprisingly generous. They only give you a tiny cup of sauce per order which is barely enough for one tender and apparently they charge $1 to make fries seasoned? In fairness, I did not attempt to ask for more sauce. Coating on chicken is
crispy! And the fries are yummy as well. Oh and they throw in a cookie with the combo – don’t see that much nowadays. Maybe next time I can ask to sub my cookie for seasoning?

The food in this place in my opinion wasn’t that good. It was my first time ever eating Kukuruku and it will be my last time. The chicken is salty which I’ve read and heard about it. The fries and spaghetti were ok but not good enough for me to go back. The best thing is I placed my order online, and it was already ready when i picked it up.

This was such an incredibly pleasant experience.
Firstly, the associate at the register greeted me and after apologizing for ordering slowly as it was my first time, she offered a brief history of the restaurant and how they developed their batter and ideology.
The restaurant was clean and well-lit. I waited roughly eight minutes for my order (a wait the associate had warned me of), a five piece chicken tender and fries. They offer cheese and BBQ seasoned fries but I wanted a fresh perspective of their plain fries, I’ll definitely try cheese next.
As with every other customer I saw receive their order, she went over each item to ensure correctness with me. I was blown away at the value. I anticipated the portions of other casual dining establishments and I was wrong. Five chicken tenders were obviously over a pound of incredibly juicy, succulent chicken breast in a very crispy, almost beer batter style breading. The chicken was gently spiced but complimented the taste of the chicken very well. Two sauces were provided with the order, I didn’t want to bother her to ask the names again so I apologize that names aren’t included. The first, lighter sauce, was a spicy mango flavored viscous sauce that was fantastic. The spice and fruit flavors were complementary, the sauce was not overly spicy and it definitely added something great to the crispy chicken. The second, darker sauce, was barbecue style but more tang than sweet, which I enjoyed. Packaged hot sauce was also provided.
The fries were crispy and had a distinct flavor, I believe they may use a different frying oil than is typical. They were phenomenal and I will absolutely include them in every future order.
I was unable to eat more than the fries and three tenders but the cookie looked and smelled delicious. Between the courteousness of staff, cleanliness, value, flavor and quality of the food, I am sure I will frequent this restaurant in the future.

I have wanted to try this place since I saw their cute little mascot!
We ordered the 2 piece crispy chicken combo with bbq seasoned fries and the 5 piece chicken tender combo with mashed potatoes and gravy.
The crispy chicken breasts were phenomenal with so much meat and the bbq fries had the perfect amount of seasoning for every bite.
The chicken tenders were juicy and delicious quite possibly the best chicken tender I’ve had to date. The mashed potatoes were creamy with a delicious gravy on top.
The cookies were the perfect end to the meal with the chocolate chips melting with each bite.
To top off the whole experience the staff was extremely fast and friendly with a pleasant greeting and goodbye after grabbing out to go order.
Can’t wait to go back and try their spaghetti!

I order from here quite often, their chicken and sides are always hot, fresh and great tasting. I decided to order the peach cobbler cup as well with my meal, and this is what I received. I was extremely disappointed because no one who works there would eat anything looking like this so, why would they send it to a customer. It was so hard and burned, that it was not even close to being edible. It cost me $8.00 for this tiny cup and tiny ice cream that I could not even eat.

I ordered the chicken Caesar salad from here. When I opened it, it was just pieces of chicken and a few salad leaves. No salad dressing or sauce, no cheese or crotons, and this costed me $15. I’m really disappointed in your performance, Kukuruku.

I’ve been hearing a lot about this place and decided to try it. I eat a LOT of chicken at a lot of different places, and as far as fried chicken goes, this has to be the best I’ve had in terms of its flavor profile and the quality of the meat itself. The chicken is juicy, the potatoes have the taste and consistency of real potatoes, and it has a nice flavor to it.

It has earned every bit of its hype and praise! Can’t wait to have it again.

**New Restaurant Alert**
Kukuruku Crispy Fried Chicken is a New restaurant in Lakeland, Tn that offers delicious fried chicken Filipino style! This chicken is very well seasoned, juicy and is very delicious! Add a side of mixed fruit or mashed potatoes along with a glass of Taro Tea and you’re really doing something! Plus the owners are really great people who worked hard to get orders out quickly but still took the time to greet everyone. I like that!
