This restaurant is amazing. Their food is delicious and has a nice presentation. Their food I would say is a fusion between Filipino and other cuisine. For those who are not familiar with Filipino dish, they will still enjoy and understand the food on the menu. I noticed that in other asian restaurants, the names of the food could be intimidating. Sometimes you can’t read and understand what’s on the menu. Here, the menu is very clear and understandable for those who are not familiar with Filipino dish. If you want to order a certain Filipino dish that’s off the menu, you can send them a message in Facebook Messenger in advanced. The restaurant is very clean and they have hand sanitizer when you come in. The restrooms are very clean too. On the women’s bathroom I love that they had a baby changing table. The staff are extremely pleasant and welcoming. I love that they have an outdoor seating too. Their server was very good, she got all our orders right and she was very kind. They are so thoughtful, they remember you when you come back. One time I left something, when we came back they gave it back to us. It wasn’t anything important and I have forgotten about it but they remembered.

My wife and I decided to stop in tonight and try a local restaurant that we had not previously attended. Kubo exceeded expectations tonight! The cuisine is elevated for this area and the chef has exquisite attention to detail in both flavor and presentation! Our waitress Destiny was very attentive and knowledgeable of both the food and beverage menu. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Found this unexpected and delicious gem in Manchester, TN. We had lechon with soy sauce, garlic and vinegar sawsawan with a side or rice. It also came with a chimichurri sauce and garlic aioli. My SO had medium rare steak perfectly red in the middle with savory burnt ends with fries/. We shared lumpia, a couple of their house cocktails and halo halo. The halo halo was missing leche flan and it came with vanilla ice cream instead of ube but I didn’t mind. Without the added sweetness, the flavor from the coconut strings and beans were able to come out in the forefront. Would still love flan however! Even though we’re an hour away, my SO turned to me after lunch and said, “We will definitely be coming back again!” I completely agree and I’m looking forward to it!
Update: We’ve been back several times. Couple of issues. We ordered rib eye medium rare and other dishes. The waitress didn’t write down our order. She came back and asked us how we wanted it because she forgot. We reiterated medium rare and it came back well done. Also the lechon tasted different. She mentioned that they had a new chef. We will leave the five stars as we hope that this was just an off day for them and we’ll try them again. However, I would recommend writing down orders and having the old chef teach the new one.

We were verty surpised to find a filipino fusion restaurant in Manchester, Tn of all places. It wasn’t your typical asian restaurant. It was very clean and a great place to hang out. They had a billiard table and a small stage for open mic and maybe some live music.
As for the food, we enjoyed the fried rice but not too much on the others.

I heard about this restaurant from one of my Facebook groups. It was highly recommended. Since moving to Middle Tennessee in May 2021 I have been missing Filipino food.
This unassuming red building would surprise its first time patrons. The interior was well done. From the table tops that is an actual piece of a tree, you can see the tree rings, to the hanging decorations and the drop ceiling.
This place did not disappoint. This is dishes are more Filipino Fusion. My son ordered the Flank Steak with Chimichurri sauce. It come with two side and he chose oven roasted vegtables and Pancit Bihon noodles. My husband ordered the Chicken Afritada. My daughter and I both ordered the Pinoy Bibimbap in a Bowl woth pork belly. The presentation was beautiful, the portions we generous and the food was amazing!
We decided to try Kubo Grill on a Sunday since it is not open on Mondays. It was worth the drive. The hostess was friendly, the service was fast and the food was delicious. I would definitely return with my out of town friends.

We ordered the pork belly bao buns, the chicken adobo, and the pork belly bibimbap, and we were hooked! The meat was so incredibly tender and juicy. The bao buns steamed to perfection. The fried egg on top so good. The sauce… mmm.
And then for dessert… the halo-halo is worth a trip alone! So many amazing tastes and textures all in one little, beautiful bowl of goodness. It is a bit strange to my middle of rural TN palette, but also so incredibly delectable!

We’ve been looking for a place to eat delicious Filipino dishes and Kubo Grill is that place. We highly recommend trying the “Kamayan Feast” if you want to have an authentic Filipino eating experience. I’m not a food expert, but I know, being a Filipino myself, that this is as close as I can get to feeling like I’m in the Philippines.
