much of a coffee drinker, matcha is just as delicious. Secondly, if you’re looking for something savory, you must try their corn beef pandesal — the mildly sweet buns harmoniously pairs with the savory corn beef and salty cheese. Lastly, their desserts are just as amazing as everything else offered on their menu. I had their moist decadent brownie topped with lotus biscuit, fluffy puto, and superb sansrival bites. Christine, the owner, kindly came out and shared her new Dubai soft cookies that had the perfect ratio of crunch to chew. It goes to show she’s always whipping up something new and exciting to share with her customers. I love seeing and tasting the passion. I will return once it’s warmer for the custards. Highly recommend!
Definitely recommend this sweet treat spot! My favorite Ube place. Below are pics of the sundae I got and a latte! So yummy!!!
Starting on a positive note, the ube soft serve was creamy and delicious. This alone could have earned an easy 5 stars if the rest of the menu matched its quality.
The biggest letdown was the mango float. You can tell from the photo that it looked promising, but the actual mango float served in the plastic container was mid. There are simply better versions out there. A good example is the mango float from Rice Culture, which is top tier and something Kubo can’t really compete with.
Another disappointment was the pricing of the ube crinkle. We were charged $5.99, while a friend was charged around $3 for the same item. This was either a mischarge or unclear pricing due to the lack of a proper menu. Unfortunately, the ube crinkle itself was even worse than the mango float. It was dry and pretty tasteless. It was also a very small treat for it’s price. This is what brought the rating down another star.
On a better note, the taro milk tea was decent (I should say mid because it’s also tasteless, but I enjoyed the unsweet boba tea), especially for those who prefer drinks that aren’t overly sweet. The boba was also nice and soft, with a modest level of sweetness, which I personally liked.
Overall, this leads me to a personal rating of ☆☆☆ 3 stars. If you’re just trying things out, I would only recommend the ube soft serve or sundae, as well as the mango soft serve, since those feel the most worth your money.
The owner, Kristine was very Friendly, kind and warm welcome. We also got a complementary UBE Mochi [So DELICIOUS… ].
Definitely RECOMMENDED this spot for great bubble tea, Ice cream & Dessert.
We’ll be back to try a different flavors
