This probably the best Honduran restaurant I have tried. The food here is delicious and you can tell it’s made with love. The baleadas are so well done, the tortillas are soft and have great taste and the carne inside is very tender and tasty. The catrachas are nice and simple just how I like. I’d definitely recommend this place for Honduran cuisine and will return soon when I’m in riverside.

Not worth $16 (originally charged $18). The crumbled napkin next to the plate has the fork in it. Poor presentation of dish and utensil.

We made an impulse stop at this restaurant—K504 or Ktrachos504 (not even sure what their name is, which was confusing from the start). Honestly, that should’ve been the first red flag, but the two workers there were really nice, so we felt bad walking out.

The menu was hard to read—prices were scratched out or written over, and as someone who works with design and printing, I noticed right away how messy and unprofessional it looked. There weren’t any recent Yelp reviews (it even said “permanently closed”), but we found some good reviews on Google, so we gave it a shot. The place felt off though. No other customers, super loud TV, and when we asked questions about the menu, one of the guys (maybe the owner?) just looked confused and didn’t seem to care.

We ordered two appetizers and two sodas. The first one was similar to empanadas, filled with meat and rice, but the flavor was odd—almost like perfume. It came with cabbage and salsa on top. I only ate one because the taste was too different for me. Then I took my toddler to the bathroom, which was a long, dark walk down a hallway. The ladies’ room was absolutely disgusting—pee all over the toilet seat and the floor. I almost turned around and left then.

Our second appetizer was fried pork with yuca, something I know from my culture. I was hopeful, but it came out looking like pork rinds from a bag. One bite in and I started choking—it was like the oil was old and the flavor was just off. I politely let them know I couldn’t eat it.

I seriously question the sanitation standards here. I debated leaving a review, but I think it’s important to be honest. Maybe people haven’t spoken up because they feel bad, but others should know what to expect. The lady working the kitchen was super kind and answered our questions patiently—she even encouraged me to try the yuca—but unfortunately, it just didn’t work for us.

What’s really sad is that I wanted to like this place. Their breakfast looked so good in the pictures, and I was genuinely excited to try their bean soup. But after this visit, I sadly won’t be returning. I hope they get things together because the idea is there—they just need to put more love into the food, the menu, and the overall space. Maybe something smaller and cozier would help. Honduras looks like a beautiful country, and it deserves to be represented with more than just a couple of shirts hanging on a big empty wall.
