I visited Krishna Inn, Bristol recently and had a really good experience. I ordered the chicken biryani and dosa, and both were excellent. The biryani was flavorful, well-cooked, and not overly oily, with tender chicken and good spice balance. The dosa was crisp and fresh, served hot, and paired well with the chutneys and sambar.
What stood out the most was the service. The staff were polite, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Orders were taken smoothly, food arrived on time, and they checked in to make sure everything was okay without being intrusive.
Overall, a very satisfying meal with great food quality and warm service. Definitely a place I’d visit again if I’m in Bristol and craving South Indian or Indian food.

Had dinner here recently with a friend on first table and have to say this place is lovely. The owner told us all about each dish and gave great recommendations. I really enjoyed my food and was really fair prices for both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and food. Will definitely be coming back 🙂

I have been dining at Krishna’s Inn for over a month now, and it has truly become one of my favourite places in Bristol. The food here is consistently authentic, flavourful, and prepared with the kind of care that instantly reminds me of traditional Indian home cooking. Every dish carries the true essence of South Indian cuisine, with perfect balance in taste and freshness.

The hospitality is equally commendable; the staff are warm, attentive, and always welcoming. I was fortunate to celebrate Onam at Krishna’s Inn, and the traditional Sadya served on a banana leaf was simply outstanding. It felt like being back in India, enjoying the festive spirit through authentic flavours and traditional presentation

Krishna’s Inn is not just a restaurant; it’s a place where food, culture, and hospitality come together beautifully. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a genuine Indian dining experience in Bristol.

If I could give zero stars I would I don’t know why this place has a 4 star review on Google – half of them must be fake. Bear in mind that we were the only customers in the restaurant at the time. This place is awful. The food was so bad, no taste at all and it cost a ridiculous amount of money for nothing. It took the server 1 hour to bring just chai. It took another hour to get half the food. We stayed thinking it might be cooked fresh and that’s why it was taking a long time but nope – food didn’t taste fresh, was only warm. The service was the worst despite us being the only customers there to serve! The server couldn’t listen to us and told we were talking quietly when we weren’t. Not at any point were we told they only had 2 chefs that evening and that food might take a while to come which most restaurants will tell you if that is the case before you place an order. When he came with our food and drinks he was telling us to take it from his tray because he couldn’t reach…at this point I was thinking I might as well be the waiter myself because he definitely could have reached. He did this twice. We got so fed up as we were starving and waiting over an hour and decided to leave and only pay for what we ate so far. The server didn’t bring any spoons for the chai, didn’t bring some drinks after reminding him 3 times. When we wanted to leave and pay he was trying to dispute with us. Eventually we were trying to pay and when we asked if they take Amex he said yes. The card machine didn’t accept it and then he said oh we don’t take it…again you should know if you work there. I appreciate that this is a small independent restaurant but the standard are way below average. After reading some of the worst reviews on Google the owner has responded to some with such rude, defensive and personal attacks which is unnecessary. Please take all these comments are constructive criticism and actually take some action to improve rather that attacking your customers on review pages. As they say, there is no smoke without fire!

Authentic South Indian & Traditional Indian Flavours at Their Best

If you’re searching for the best Indian restaurant serving authentic Indian food, this place is an absolute must-visit.

The masala dosa was crisp with potato masala and served with flavourful sambar and fresh coconut chutney. It’s easily one of the best masala dosas I’ve had outside India.

The porota (parotta) was soft, flaky and the vendakka (okra) fry was cooked to perfection, lightly spiced, and not oily, allowing the natural flavour of the okra to shine through.

The highlight of the meal was the mutton curry. Every bite was packed with deep flavour, making it a standout dish for anyone who loves authentic Indian non-vegetarian cuisine.

With its warm ambience, friendly service, and truly traditional Indian dishes, this restaurant is perfect for family dining or a relaxed meal with friends. Highly recommended for anyone craving real Indian flavours, especially South Indian and classic curry dishes.

Ordered the Meat Thali and Biriyani – both were delicious. The meat curry was especially flavorful❤️. Loved the sides like aviyal, pumpkin elissery. Great taste and good service overall! The Biriyani had a pleasant aroma and was well-spiced without being overpowering. The portion size was generous, and the rice was fluffy and well-cooked.
Serving and hospitality were also commendable, making the experience even more enjoyable.
Would definitely recommend it for those looking to enjoy a wholesome, traditional South Indian meal❤️.

I used to have food from this place few years back when I used to work at Clifton. I thought of getting an order via uber eats today and spend almost £20. I am shocked with the taste of the food and I would recommend “do not waste your money” here. I am not sure if the cook or management has changed but what I tasted today is definitely not the food I used to have few years back. I ordered Medu vada which was too oily and I am sure they are the frozen vada that you get in Asian supermarket. They just fried it in deep oil rather than making it from scratch. We spend money ordering because we want to eat real vada not the frozen one. We can ourselves get those frozen ones and make at home. Then I ordered the chicken biryani which was sweet and had so so much of black pepper. Good Lord no way it taste like biryani. The only thing that was eatable was the raita(the yoghurt sauce ) that was given with the biryani. This is a serious feedback and I wish the management looks at it and takes it seriously. I feel sad that a place like this is serving so bad quality food now. I have left a feedback on uber eats too. I am completely feeling sick now after having the chicken biryani and vada.
