I’m not a big ice cream person but after being in town, and hearing that this place was featured in Brittany Howard’s (Alabama Shakes) music video, wanted to come check out the place and give it a try. On this particular day the line was incredibly long I’m not sure I wanted to wait but I did and it was worth it highly recommend. Get a waffle cone with a mix of chocolate and vanilla and get it chocolate dipped. Very tasty.

Our banana splits were the worst we’ve ever had. Never before have I had a banana split in a cup. no strawberries, very little pineapple, no whip cream or peanuts.it had a pile of sticky candied walnuts. Very disappointed.

This ice cream was so good! I had a large cone and a large cup of swirl and it was right up there with the best soft serve I have ever had. Cruze Farms by the way. The service was quick and friendly. Very small town with plenty of parking some across the street. Prices were fantastic.

We stopped by on our was through the area. I ordered twist soft serve with chocolate dip. The flavor is a nostalgic trip down memory lane to my childhood.
If I’m in the area again, I’ll probably forego the dip and just enjoy the creamy and delicious soft serve.
The young lady who took our order was exceptionally polite. She seemed to enjoy her job, which is becoming less common in the food service industry today.

Located just off the square in Athens, Al. This is an iconic ice cream shop.
This was my first time to stop here but, have passed by here several times. This is the best milkshake I have ever had. No wonder they have been in business since 1951.
I saw people of all ages from little kids to adults. I got the strawberry milkshake. Pictured is a small!! I couldn’t eat it all at once. I would definitely go there again. Highly recommend if you are ever in Athens, Al.

I was very disappointed in the quality of the food I received the order was wrong I ordered 4 footlongs with chili 2 without onions all 4 with cheese. Didn’t get any cheese on none of hotdogs charged 4.40 for cheese 2 hotdogs had chilli 2 hot dogs didn’t the chill was very lumpy and very thick and was in 2 cups instead on the hotdog. I ‘ve eat there since 3 hotdogs for 3 dollars years back. In the 80’s this by far was the worse service and food I have ever received from this place The chilli was dry not very tasteful.

The first time we went we tried the milkshakes and were disappointed given how highly people talk about this place. We decided to go back and try the ice cream cones and now it’s our favorite ice cream spot in Athens!

The icecream is never consistent. Sometimes it super fluffy and whipped cream like and sometimes it’s super icey and heavier. Also, if anyone in front of you orders more than an icecream cone, you’re gonna be standing there for 15 minutes. No sense of urgency whatsoever.

The Kreme Delight in Athens is located right off the square and is a local favorite. The Kreme Delight has been an Athens tradition for at least 50 years. The restaurant has two walk-up windows, and the person taking the order prepares the treats. The lines can be quite long in the summer. The lines were shorter today with cooler weather. Their upside banana split is great, as well as their dip cones. It’s always worth a visit.
