We ordered breakfast carryout and our eggs were burnt, the hash browns were not fit for a dog. It was gross. I called the owner she actually argued w me about her terrible quality food and hung up on me. Food is subpar and the owner is rude and ignorant w customer service. We won’t be back. Better food elsewhere.

I have been coming to this restaurant since before I can even remember. I love the food and the amazing staff. I have been treated so well and my brother and my pictures are even on the wall! Overall a wonderful place that I hope my family can go to for a very long time.

I normally look beyond the watered down coffee, which is a staple to most breakfast places, though today was something I couldn’t stand. I ordered poached eggs with my breakfast… you know, the ones cooked in water, hard whites, soft runny yellow inside? Yea those are the ones. Anyways, I received what was more akin to a medium boiled egg. The white was cooked wonderfully, the yellow about 70% cooked with the middle being a thick gelatinous mixture that was anything but runny.

No worries I’ll ask them to remake the eggs, explaining they were cooked too long, NO. BIG. DEAL.

Though apparently it was. The female cook came to me very defensive of what I asked for, saying she provided it. I explained how I was expecting the runny yellow that I’m used to from making it myself, or any other restaurant. Hell, Ram’s Horn does an amazing poached egg.

Either way, she argued with me that I need to specify I need it runny, put me down saying I was wrong in my assumption and that I didn’t order correctly. I just couldn’t do it anymore. I was done, asked for the check and left, all the while hearing the woman from the kitchen talk about how “they asked for poached eggs I gave them poached eggs, they are crazy and don’t know what they want” in a raised voice.

Just be aware of what you’re getting into when coming to this place. Sure brings back memories, though no longer for my family, this was just an insane way to treat a customer over an egg that was cooked 45 seconds too long.

Have been eating here since the 70s. Best breakfast around. Amazing homemade greek dressing! Nice to have a place the still carries the down to earth, small town feel of Rochester.

Down to earth, no nonsense food and service. Food and portions like grandma would make. And you are treated like family. Barb, George and Phyllis are the best!!! And I dig the artwork!

It’s OK if you like to pay a lot for things you can get cheaper at Coney Island… Don’t get me wrong they are sweet and fast but the food is not worth the money they ask for it.
